That would be a disturbing news if it was true!

"A computer, and especially hosting services (which often run Linux), are powerful communication and broadcasting systems into today’s world. If you control and have unfettered access to such systems, you basically control the world. As Assange notes in the talk, encryption is only as strong as its endpoints. eg if you’re running a very secure protocol on a system with a compromised OS, you’re owned."

The Eternal Now

I forgive myself, and others, for any mistakes we made before this moment. I choose not to drag the burden of my past into the promised land of each new day. I am open to the miracles that the present holds out as its gift to me in the eternal now.
   -  Marianne Williamson, A Year of Miracles

Welcome this day as a gift, and be open to the miracles of the eternal now.

There are so many cringe-worthy moments in this 10-minute video, it would be irresponsible to build a drinking game around it.  E.g., the British government has news for you +Peter Norvig: you can teach programming in a day (at around 6m30s in the video).

And yet, and yet. Through all the nonsense you can see moments of the magic of computing seep through. The same magic you and I felt when we first programmed. So there's hope, after all.
