Just because the HTTYD 2 film was simply fantastic. The thrill of the vistas, the soaring Dragons, of Hiccup gliding... I get a tingle up my spine as much as my daughter does. I don't have much tolerance for repetition on the whole but I could watch some of those scenes over & over. My favourite film this decade so far. Seriously!

And finally, because I rediscovered this recently & Snoops became obsessed by it, here for your delectation is the phenomenal Walking On Air from DWTS a couple of years back. Derek Hough is an astonishingly talented dancer & choreographer. Such vision & panache.

I just had my first proper paycheck in 7 years. Not a company director dividend, not child benefit, but a proper grown up "Oh, look, I'm working!" payment. God, I love those guys. I wear jeans, I drink tea, I get to stretch my brain, make decisions, engage in banter... And then someone PAYS ME. Crazy! Awesome! Awesomely crazy! Cute.

Aaaand shortly after playing at dragon riding, "Stormfly" collapsed into a family sandwich (do I ever mention how tall our kids are & how short we parents are??! It's a tough act to carry. I think that counts as today's workout!)

I've just noticed that I'm down as a Developer at work. This pains me, since it misleadingly implies I may possess all sorts of fancy Developer-y knowledge, which, in fact, I do not. I have my own fancy knowledge. UX people are magic. At least, larger software houses invariably assume that we are, since we're usually expected to produce magic, based on nothing, out of nothing. Usually immediately. In this sense, my current company is proving very reasonable, having afforded me a good 80 hours without demanding end-to-end designs so far...
