To celebrate the first day of legal same-sex marriage in Florida, the First Unitarian Universalist Congregation of  the Palm Beaches, 635 Prosperity Farms Road in North Palm Beach will waive all non-member fees for all same-sex weddings until January 30, 2014. Normal rental fees for the church sanctuary for non-members can run over $1,000, with an additional minister officiation fee. Both fees will be waived.

To qualify to legally marry on January 6 and avoid the 3-day wait period, couples need to complete the “Florida Premarital Preparation Course" approved by the State of Florida.

The church’s minister, the Rev. CJ McGregor, writes "Unitarian Universalists have long been the voice of freedom, compassion, and equity. We are delighted to celebrate the coming of marriage equality to Florida."

Any same-sex couple with a Florida Marriage License is welcome to get married in a service in the sanctuary of the First Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Palm Beaches.

Couples wishing to get married on January 6th or later are invited to call the church to schedule their ceremony at 561 627-6106.
