Basic Information
I rented two pods from this company. I went with them because I wanted to support a small local business rather than one of those large chain organizations. However, their prices were a bit higher than the larger chains, so I asked them to match that pricing and they did, so I decided to go with them. After that, it just seemed like they held that discount against me for the rest of my interactions with them. I spent more than $2000 with this company including 2 moves and more than 6 months of renting pods. During the time that they had my pods, I only accessed them 3 times. One of those times, they did not bring out the pod at the time that I asked them to bring it out and I ended being late to work because of it. Another one of those times, they brought out the wrong pod, even though I specifically said I wanted the one labeled with #1. Again, I had to get a late start to my day because of that. At some point, I was told that if I use their moving service, that they would waive the return trip of the pod since their guys would just be bringing it out, emptying it and bringing them back. Even though I had already signed a contract saying I was suppose t pay $99 for each trip after the first initial drop off. I thought this would be a good deal since I had two pods and it would save me $198 on the move. Later when it became time to move, I reconfirmed that they would not charge me for the return trip and suddenly the rules changed. I asked them to honor what they had originally told me or I would just have some friends come over and help me move all my stuff out because I didn't have any large appliances to move out. The lady told me that she would check with the owner and get back to me before my moving date. So I just reserved the moving date expecting her to call me and let me know, so I could cancel if the decided not to honor it. She never called. I called herthree days later, the day before the move, and her last words to me were, "I haven't been able to reach the owner, but if that is what he told you, I am sure it will be fine." So I kept the appointment. The next day, the movers came and did their job. They were nice and professional and did a good job. So I gave them each $20 tip and also gave one of the guys one of my lamps because he said he needed one. A couple of days later, I was charged $396 for moving both pods both ways. I tried calling them to have them explain what happened and all they said was, they decided not to honor what they had said, saying that nobody ever told me anything like that. I tried to explain to them that the fact that they decided not to honor the discount was not the issue. The issue was that I was not told in advanced that they had not decided to honor what they had said before so I could cancel moving with them and just have my friends come in and help me. The lady on the phone told me that I was being rude to her and just hung up on me. I asked her several times to get me in touch with her owner and he never returned my call. Either way, this was a terrible experience and I do not recommend anyone ever doing business with them again. Find another Pod service!
