Family-friendly spot since 1913, best known for BBQ shrimp but also serves Louisiana-Italian dishes.- Google
"I also recommend the gumbo, but you might have to ask for extra rice."

When I was a little girl my mom use to work here. She asked me what I wanted for my 5th birthday. I told her a Flintstone pebbles doll an BBQ shrimp from Manale's. An that's what I got. So now I had my 4? B day today an that's what I wanted an that's what I got. Lots of memories growing up there. Love the place.

My parents grew up in the New Orleans area and Pascal's Manale is an old favorite of theirs. The food and service is always excellent. My must have dish is the BBQ shrimp and the first time you have it if you are not from the area it can be surprising. It is basically whole shrimp in a butter garlic sauce. Soaking bread in the sauce is almost as good as the shrimp. If you order it they but a bib in you as it is very messy but delicious.

A historical treasure. The food is amazing and while the BBQ shrimp can be messy, be sure to try it, especially if combined with another fish offering!

Not a place for someone with dairy allergies, FYI. I enjoyed the fish I had, and the service was great. Had some kind of fried eggplant with marinara sauce appetizer that was the best part of the meal.

The shrimp were huge and there were 10 of them. Great peppery oily bbq sauce. Eggplant app with shrimp also good. In a vodka sauce.

The food was good but it's way too hoity toity. The hostess is snobby, they won't seat you without your whole party, no hats in the dining room, blah blah. Then they give you a bib to eat the bbq shrimp. Really??? And the acoustics are terrible so it is almost impossible to have a conversation at the table, much less hear the waiter.

BBQ shrimp and raw oysters = awesome. Wonderful food and great service. It's worth the drive from the downtown area.
