Yes I agree, and should be regulated as such.

I agree on the "perpetual, non-revocable, royalty-free" etc. That is, as you say, standard language to get distribution over the internet to work at all. The contentious change is the unlimited scope.
All other such (reasonable) licenses state "...for the purpose of...". The LL ToS explicitly states "for any purpose whatsoever".
That is the dealbreaker.

There were moments in Bioshock that I really really wanted the Blink ability to do some stealth kills. But ended up using the sniper rifle instead and drawing the rest of the gang down on me for the sake of catching one of them unawares.
