This weeks Blended learning task for my students is is to research the late British Photographer Corinne Day, who in my opinion is the 1990's version of David Bailey - a game changer and another person from a working class background who turned the fashion industry upside-down single-handed.

Just added another photographer to my list of photographers - a resource for students of art and photography looking to find serious contemporary and historical photographers. The list differs from most as it helps students find the photographers/artists by theme. Most students start their work with a theme and then need to find an artist or photographer associated with the theme. Using my list you use CTRL + F or CMD + F to search using a word of your choice. For instance if you're after someone who shoots images of dogs in a serious way with some sense of meaning simply type dogs in the search field and then use the return key to find all of the people who shoot dogs.
This addition today is a Finnish photographer who has an different take on selfies and self portraits - search 'selfies' and or Finnish.

Blog page with some ideas for students of photography doing accredited courses such as A-Levels, BTEC's, UAL's, NCFE's and even higher levels. Most courses have a requirement to produce plans prior to under-taking practical activities as a part of their unit specifications and these are assessed usually as pass, merit or distinction. The more attention to detail you use in the production of your plan the more likely you'll attain a higher grade. Furthermore, the more you do this with detail - the more you evidence your knowledge and learning.

Update on my new cricket blog after watching the NZ v India T20 match. Chahal bowled brilliantly against batsmen that were looking to hit him out of the ground. Here's my thoughts on the matter and potentially adopting a similar approach.

Back to college after the half term break and straight into some research into the Photographer Ed Drew. Drew uses traditional methods which grew in popularity during the American Civil War. The students have to research the materials, techniques and processes use by Ed Drew and also look at and analyse the construct of the images - why has this background been used and what does it convey and how does it help with the narrative of the images?
