The moon during the penumbral lunar eclipse on Feb 11, 2017. You can see the shadow of the earth on the upper left hand side. I know this stretches the boundary of what constitutes "landscape photography," but oh well.

I found this sub-adult Purple Gallinule this morning at Orlando Wetlands Park. Pretty soon this individual will sport the brilliant blues, purples and greens that the species is known for. This is one of my favorite wetland species.

Purple Sandpipers like to hang out on rocks along the crashing waves. They have specialized feet that allow them to cling to the rocks and not get knocked off by the waves. This makes them one of my favorite shorebirds.
