Gave up on ubuntu 10.04 - too slow and flakey under virtual box - just installing 11, which is getting good reviews - if it looks ok will look for a separate laptop to run it on rather than virtual box in order to give it a fair try.

Was about to give up on a trial move from osx to linux as even with the 11.04 Unity desktop Ubuntu has a Windows 3.1 clunky feel to it - but gave Kubuntu a try as a last ditched effort - now that has a desktop I could live with - who cares if it is a bit of a windows copy - at least you can use it and still feel you are in the 21st century.

BTW great work on the underlying architecture Ubuntu, and I love your Server product - hire somebody from the Kubuntu team to redo your desktop UI and you would get much further in the desktop market though - IMHO

Excellent - thanks Mark - Linux Mint Debian was the distro I was looking for. It has a much more elegant interface than Ubuntu, but isn't as Vista-ish as Kubuntu ;-)

Question for the day - is it worth an organisation of 100 staff the expense of upgrading everyone to OSX Lion, or is the underlying OS version now irrelevant when we spend most of our time in a browser?
