Rats and Your Pets

The natural activity for many cats and dogs and to catch and eat Rats & Mice. But by eating Rodents your much loved pets may experience negative consequence such as Toxoplasmosis & Intestinal Worms.

Toxoplasmosis
Cats and dogs can become infected with this organism by eating rodents that have Toxoplasmosis cysts developing in their muscles. Dogs and Cats are affected differently; symptoms for Dogs could be diarrhoea, pneumonia, liver disease or diseases of the nervous system. With Cats it generally won’t cause as much harm unless they have a weakened immune system.

Intestinal Worms
Roundworm can infect Cats and Dogs who have ingested Rodents who have roundworm larvae in their muscles. These worms feed on the intestinal contents of the Cat or Dog and compete with your pet for food.
