My boyfriend and I took the 40 minute drive to enjoy the chocolate dessert fondue option for the first time, only to be disappointed. The manager nearly turned us away because the restaurant has a hidden policy, which states the chocolate fondue dessert only option is "unavailable on holiday weekends", and he insisted that the policy is on the restaurant website. This is what the website states: Customers wanting only chocolate fondue may join us after the dinner hour Sunday thru Thursday nights between 9:30 - 10:00pm, and Friday thru Saturday nights between 10:30 - 11:00pm on a first come, first served basis, for walkins only! Also, they do not answer their phones to clarify. They have an automated voice mail, which states the policy that is posted on their website. Needless to say, my boyfriend and I were really disappointed to receive this kind of treatment. Regardless, we still wanted to try the dessert option that everyone talks about, so we took the manager's offer to eat it in the lobby (as they wouldn't allow us to dine in the actual restaurant). Because we were in the lobby, we witnessed the manager turn at least 4 other customer parties away, including a party of 4 that was celebrating a birthday (I felt so sorry for the birthday girl). The demeanor of the restaurant was shameful that night, and my boyfriend and I really didn't want to give our money to this type of establishment. And honestly, I don't know what the buzz is about because I can make better chocolate fondue at home with Toll House chocolate morsels.

So. Full. Used a Groupon which came with a HUGE plate of meats for grilling. Didn't even come close to finishing! Despite being stuffed, we still gave dessert a go. Toffee in the chocolate fondue was the best.

For special occasions, and a change from typical restaurants, go to La Fondue. They have a variety of exotic meats (ostrich, buffalo, alligator, etc), which is great for non-adventurous eaters to try something different. The chocolate fondue is always excellent -- you can go in just for dessert after the dinner hour Sunday thru Thursday nights between 9:30 – 10:00pm, and Friday thru Saturday nights between 10:30 – 11:00pm. Also, free corkage on Wednesday nights

I took my fiance here for his birthday because he had never eaten at a fondue restaurant. I thought that the experience was overall OK, but it wasn't as unique as I had hoped for in regards to the menu selection. I personally had a better experience at the melting pot. The pros: -The food is gourmet: We got the La Romantique dinner option, and it comes with steak, lobster and shrimp. The dippers are definitely upper-end. -The dessert was amazing: If I ever were to come back, it would be solely for their chocolate fondue and dessert dippers. Both the chocolate you dip things in, and the things you get to dip (cream puffs, cookie dough, fruits, etc.) were amazing. -You won't leave hungry: In fact, I left beyond stuffed. They give you LOTS of food, and you probably won't want to eat before or after it since you will be stuffed. The cons: -The cheese was mediocre. We got the stinking rose and it just tasted cheap to me. I didn't think that it was unique in flavor. -The cooking sauce/broth for the entree dippers was not good. We got the tomato based one by recommendation of our server and it completely masked the food we were eating. I wish they had more flavors that would actually enhance their dippers opposed to masking them. Written suggestions of what to pair with each one would have also been helpful.
