Today was declared World Day of the Poor by Pope Frances to re-enforce that concern for the poor should be an essential part of our everyday lives.

In his address announcing this important day, Pope Francis said, “We are called to draw near to the poor, to encounter them, to meet their gaze, to embrace them and to let them feel the warmth of love that breaks through their solitude.”

Today, of all days, keep your homeless neighbors in mind.
