fortunate for this public charter school in center-city Philadelphia.

...Proud to be a Spanish Immersion school, these teachers work hard to meet their kids’ needs in all ways and in two languages.

without 4 more years of sound economic policy, we're sunk!

...Their innovation was to measure American income inequality historically… Once they had collected the data, the computation was easy. They figured out the benchmark for various income levels — and calculated what share of income each group took each year.

What they found startled them… inequality started increasing again, with the top 1 percent of earners drawing a bigger and bigger share of overall income… When they first published their work, income inequality was mostly off the political radar screen, thanks to the 1990s boom, Mr. Saez said.

...the essence of critical thinking is to slow down this process, learn how to reframe problems, see beyond the familiar and focus on what is unique in any important decision situation.

"Do you really think because you know "photography", "better", than a few people that you know better than everyone? You're so securely superior that you forget how to look for something worth looking for. Hah, you're missing out, you're stuck in the past. Goodbye, suckers..."

This puts us into proper perspective in the scale of our universe. It accurately illustrates the scale of items within the observable universe ranging from galaxies to insects, nebulae and stars to molecules and atoms.

For those that haven't seen this before.
Not sure which is more mind-blowing: Zooming in or zooming out.

Soggy weekend on the east coast, here's some spring beach pics from the shore before thunderstorms. One of Cape May's many bay side beaches... Pics are Instagrams...

A token semblance of economic fairness based on facts and data would improve our country.

From the GOP and the Romney camp came criticism that the rule... would hit small businesses and so slow hiring and hurt the economy.

Small businesses get used as props by politicians from both sides all the time. We picked up the phone and made some calls to check this one out.
