The most interesting Donut shop in St. Louis. Owned and operated by a charming elderly couple. If you come here regularly they can see you a mile away and have your coffee and donut waiting. This place is immensely popular so come early. By 9 a.m. they may be out of what you want especially since the Kingshighway detour has even more traffic going by.

Donuts are delicious, to say the very least. I got 5 free donuts today. I did not have any cash on me and picked out 5 donuts, and Byron(?) ("just the donut guy" he calls himself) told me not to worry about it and that just come back next time. FREE DONUTS! I will be sure to pay him back! Did I mention their donuts are delicious? 'Cause they are freaking delicious! And I think they are only like 50 cents per donut. Awesome place!

This place has the best normal donuts I've ever eaten. The chocolate long johns were amazing, the regular glazed were amazing, and the cinnamon donuts were amazing. They were all so good I ate too many of them to try the other donuts. Reviews generally cover the specialty items, but the just regular donuts from here are the best I've ever eaten. And they were priced really well too. So glad I tried this place.

Donut game level delicious. Cheap and amazing. Might have to wait in a little bit of a line, but it's totally worth it. They get multiple deliveries thought the day. On the weekends, I try to go before 10:00am.

I liked the freshness of the blueberry and glazed donuts but hated the rudeness of the lady behind the counter. I asked for a dozen donuts (on national donut day, to boot) and she snapped that I can only buy 3 or 4 or the folks behind me won't get any (although the guy behind her was steadily making and bringing out more donuts--and she had at least 2 dozen in the case). She repeated it in more personal terms and the room got as quiet as a church mouse. I guess the folks behind me probably couldn't believe her either. I will never go back (and I rarely use the word NEVER--and I love donuts). I wonder if the old white lady had a problem with me being a black man in a suit... or just for being a black man. Glad I don't live in Missouri--esp. St. Louis.

We really wanted donuts on our recent trip to St. Louis, and a google search for "best donuts in St. Louis" led us to World's Fair. Alton Brown said they were the best around, and who am I to argue with Alton Brown?? We could not believe the prices (just under $7 for a full mixed dozen). We tried frosted long johns, basic glazed, and frosted cake donuts, but the best by far were the buttermilk cake. Depending on where you're from, you might know them as sour cream donuts. They're very similar. They were the best I've ever had, anywhere. And I really, really love donuts! The shop itself is small, the staff was friendly, and the location is really nice (near the botanical garden in a cute little neighborhood with fun local shops nearby). The place was not over-crowded, but there was a steady stream of customers the entire time we were there. One customer would leave, and someone new would immediately walk in the door. They seemed to have a loyal customer base, b/c you could tell some of them were regulars that the owner recognized. Please stop in and give them your business, and for heaven's sake, do yourself a favor and try those buttermilk cake donuts. The other stuff was fine, but those were the star. Editing to add that it is cash only, so be prepared!!
