Your 20's Are The Most Expensive Decade Of Your Life

Getting what you want in life is a matter of prioritizing your goals and taking action. I’m of the mindset that you can have everything… just maybe not all in your 20′s.

Money After Graduation
Introduction
My name is Bridget and MoneyAfterGraduation.com is my personal finance blog. I started it when I was in graduate school, where I used to be an aspiring scientist. However, I realized a career in research was not for me and on a whim, I left with my MSc. only half-way done and joined the workforce (well, after I got back from living in Paris for a month that is). Now I labor for the love of financial freedom, and blog about it here.

I’m most passionate about personal finance, especially for students, and am looking to help my peers (and myself!) get out of consumer debt, pay off their student loans, and invest their money wisely so they can graduate rich & ready to take on that scary world-after-university. My blog entries will primarily focus on budgeting and saving: the musings of my own triumphs and failures in trying to take on the financial universe. I am not a professional financial advisor, and my blog is 100% personal opinion. Please explore professional resources for more thorough information on any of the topics discussed within my posts.
Bragging rights
In November 2011 I was featured in Canada’s national finance magazine, MoneySense, for my amateur investor stock investment strategies. I plan to blog more about investing once I develop a vague idea of what’s going on, in the meantime I’m taking a “learn-by-doing” approach. In February 2012, my alma mater the University of Alberta interviewed me about this blog and my savings & debt repayment strategies for university students. In April 2012 the UofA’s student newspaper, The Gateway, also published a piece about me and my debt in a student debt feature. Online, I’ve been featured twice on The Consumerist: once for my minimalist closet and again for one of my personal favourite blog posts, how to spend your money after graduation.
