Russia, Ukraine, and European Energy+AFP
Posted this on their twitter account. It is probably the most important info-graphic you will see all day, and explains a great deal why the situation in the Ukraine is a difficult balancing act for much of Europe than it is for the United States. Both Ukraine and Russia are strategically important for much of Europe's energy needs. Unlike the US, which has domestic natural gas supplies, Europe is heavily dependent on Natural Gas piped from Russia through Ukraine.
To the US, this could be the start of another cold war with Russia, but to Europe the problems are infinitely more complicated, and significant.
