belated solstice blessings
I don't know about you, but I am so happy that summer is here. It's been a long 2015 this year in Faye-land. We finally finished our front yard. The hostas along the drive were the last detail to be taken care of. I'm transitioning into a new job in a few d...

shaking off the winter blues

money, minimalism, the relationships we have with things
I don't know if I've mentioned this, but one of the things I'm trying to implement in my life is more minimalism. At first glance minimalism  causes people to think of getting rid of almost everything and living out of a backpack, I assure you it's not as d...

benefits of a structured practice
Which is better: a traditional practice or a personal practice; or rather, a structured by the book set of practices or a free, wing it as you go with what speaks to you in the moment practices? I've been thinking a lot lately about this question. Honestly,...

what stories do we tell
I've been wondering a lot lately about blogging. At one point in my life, it was very important to me. It was something that I really enjoyed doing. Lately however, I find it harder to sit down at the computer and write. And I'm not sure why. I don't really...
I've been wondering a lot lately about blogging. At one point in my life, it was very important to me. It was something that I really enjoyed doing. Lately however, I find it harder to sit down at the computer and write. And I'm not sure why. I don't really think it's motherhood at this point.

yesterday's post, in art journal form...
2015 has been a hard year for me so far. Not in the sense of everything is falling apart kind of hard, but rather in that I've been struggling to make peace with some longstanding family issues and personal patterns of behaviour that have been blocking me. ...

It's amazing, in a few short days (literally days), we've gone from -4C to +14C. It's quite something. We went on our first adventure to the river the other night. Watching Baby Faye's face as the geese landed on the water, I was once again I am reminded of...

if you can't poke fun at yourself, someone else will do it for you...
This totally cracks me up: As a crunchy vegetarian, I totally love it. And I'm sorry, but "have you ever killed anything?" "no, but I've taken the morning after pill a LOT" is probably the funniest, most inappropriate thing I've heard in a while. Yup, this ...

interesting astrology youtube videos
Don't be fooled by the gimmicky front to his youtube channel page because honestly, his analysis of astrology is super interesting. I totally loved (and kind of hated though it might be true) what he had to say about my chart:

Introduction
Welcome, Blessed Be, Namaste!

I'm just your average, every day individual, living a fairly ordinary life, following the pagan path. I am an artist, teacher, and wife.

My path hasn't always been clear and I've learned a lot along the way - mostly that I still have so much yet to learn! In many ways I am still very much a newbie and my (mis)adventures are just beginning. Some days I'm a little fluffy, some days I'm a wee bit wicked and sarcastic. Mostly, I'm just trying to figure things out and would love to have you join me on the journey and share my thoughts along the way....
