U won't get free bread if u use Groupon. The waitress was friendly & they won't precharge u 18% tip on the bill. The food was ok, however me & my husband all got diarrhea after that dinner.

Deserves 0 stars. Pizza is always burnt and greasy. Surprised they're still in business. Worst pizzeria in East Brunswick

My husband and I are particular and only like fresh mushrooms on pizza, so we always ask whether fresh or canned mushrooms are used prior to ordering (as we would just order something else if they were canned). At Alfonso's, the man prompty said exactly this: 'We use fresh mushrooms', so we ordered them. We received the pizza, which itself wasn't bad...but alas, basically an entire can of canned mushrooms were on it. I called to complain as they directly lied to us. They said they would make a note and we would get a free pizza. On May 26th, we ordered this free pizza. Not only did they not comp us the full value of the original pie we ordered, they said they wouldn't deliver a free pie, so we ordered garlic bread with cheese (which happened to be on stale bread). Then I noticed after it was delivered, they also charged for delivery. So why couldn't they deliver it in the first place? Then we get this sorry excuse of a pizza that was so greasy it soaked through the bottom of the box after being on my table in just 5 minutes. The entire center of the pie was mushy and the pizza was clearly leftovers and they put 2 separate parts of a pizza together to make it look like it was a whole pie. After the original pie we ordered, we thought this place could have been good without the canned mushrooms. Now I would order Dominos over this pizza. Disgusting food and disgusting service. Save yourself the aggravation and order from elsewhere.

Not bad, not great. Just ok. I prefer "Brothers Pizza & Restaurant" about five minutes down the road. They rock every time!

Here's a place that needs to be supported--well-prepared Italian favorites and imaginative dishes served up by a friendly, mostly attentive staff. I've eaten in the restaurant five times, and have had takeout another half-dozen times, and I'm never disappointed. The Linda Special was amazing--it's so rare to find a place that can perfectly cook calamari when it's one of many items in a dish. The Gorgonzola Chicken was terrificbeing perfectly done, and the Chicken ala Luigi had a wonderfully flavorful sauce that made the relatively small portion still worth it. The waitstaff and busboys are attentive, but service can be variable: I've had two amazing servers, and two passable ones. The table bread could be warmer and crispier, and the olive oil needs a bit of spice. The price is right, the staff is skillful and the food is terrific. This is the real antidote to the poison that is Olive Garden, and will make you realize Italian food can be amazing when it's done by people who care about the dishes they serve up. The A&P next anchoring this strip closed, so there's almost no foot traffic--but you will be well served by making a special trip to dine here.
