Tuxedos and ornate picture frames and guitars and the random delightful detritus of the average estate sale.
None of that, really, will apply to what is surely one of the most offbeat estate sales to come down the pike in awhile: The Santa Monica Museum of Art's moving sale. Think blue-chip art supplies. Think cameras and microphones and various tech. If you've been longing for a vintage steel-cage desk, the Bergamot Station museum is selling 'em, more than one.

It's not your typical find-stuff-get-deals sell-all; cameras and art supplies are part of the scene.

A little white kitten narrowly missed having to dig into her nine lives after escaping the mouth of a hawk in a SoCal neighborhood.

The hawk was on top of a basketball hoop when a woman heading out for groceries spotted it -- with a 5-week-old female kitten in its mouth.

The hawk took off and flew down the street, but the furry feline made it out alive: http://4.nbcla.com/9XxYBB6

Chris Norton fractured part of his spine in his freshman year of college, leaving him paralyzed from the neck down.

But after four years of physical therapy, Chris accomplished a seemingly impossible goal: walking across the stage at graduation.

"My graduation walk was what I considered my game day or Olympic event."

But if anything could have eclipsed that moment for Chris, it was when he proposed to Emily Summers, who helped him cross the stage one day later: http://4.nbcla.com/BFNZqiC

The dad approached the boy outside an elementary school and fired twice, police said. The boy fell to the ground, saying he couldn't breathe, and was later hospitalized in critical condition, police said.
"(He) stated that he was upset that the victim had shot his 5-year-old son with a (BB) gun in the buttocks the day before and that he had shot at his son again" on Sunday, investigators allege in the complaint.
