Lloyd’s Register investigated in Twistlock technology

Lloyd’s Register, one of the leading class society for container vessels, investigated in new technology for container ships. LR researched the influence of latest Fully-Automatic Locks (FATs) with smaller clearance, just like German Lashing’s Smartlock SL-1. The SL-1 is approved by Lloyd’s Register since June 2012 to the stowage system in comparison with Semi-Automatic Twistlocks (SATLs).

Lloyd’s Register stated that Operators who use the latest fully automatic twistlocks (FATs) will have the advantage of securing their cargoes safely and effectively with minimum intervention from the stevedores.
