Anyone else syncing their owncloud contacts? Recovering after a crash and burn, and can't seem to get my contacts back up. Running this command:

syncevolution --sync refresh-from-remote mitch-contacts mitch-sync-personal

I get this:

First ERROR encountered: error code from SyncEvolution object not found (remote, status 404): 20131213T214550.e92b4b52c1%40124.254.80.130.vcf: not contained in multiget response

Any ideas what's going on? My calendars are syncing fine. Was all working beautifully about 24 hours ago - not sure what I've done to stuff it up. M

Well, have well and truly bricked my BQ - first time for everything... Have a pleasant boot animation with BQ and Ubuntu 'factory reset' playing each time I turn it on. (sigh) Am also off to Indonesia in less than 2 weeks for a theatre project I'm running. So - the real question:

1. Do I get a cheap android handset until the convergent bq phone comes out, or -
2. Do I take a gamble and hope another BQ gets to me before I leave for Indo?

Love Telegram, and love the native Ubuntu client - but I've been logged out 3 times this morning checking messages - that just sucks. Can't wait for the next update to the client - hopefullt that fixes the issues. Please add your comment to this post if you are also getting random logouts. Cheers,

Mitchell

+Daniel Wood Sure - will add a link to a launchpad bug when I'm at my computer again - thanks for the reminder. I was told by the main dev of the ubuntu touch Telegram app that my issue was was not a priority to debug however, as he was focused on getting a new release out. Was wondering how many other people were affected by this issue. So far, only 1 (looking at you kugi!). Interesting to know if anyone else is getting random logouts. Cheers, M

Hi people, I'm setting up my Nexus 7 tablet as a media system - i.e., a blue-tooth speaker and my music synced to the device. Working well so far. The issue is that I have way more music than will be able to fit on the internal memory of my 16gb device. Looking for other options.

I run a server locally here, so have been thinking of ways I can store music on the server and access it locally on my device. I would rather have it locally recognised, as I want to use the music scope and native music player. Options I've so far come up with are:

1. Use something like sshfs (fusermount) to mount the remote storage locally. No idea if this will still be available when the device sleeps, or if it will have to be remounted each time it wakes up.
2. Use Ampache to stream directly - this is a subpar option. Last I checked Ampache didn't have a great mobile interface, and this wouldn't include the native music app or music scope.
3. Buy a 32gb device - have been looking into this.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks,

Mitchell

Ok - have an unresponsive BQ 4.5. Updated to image 151 of the rc-proposed channel, and got stuck at the ubuntu boot animation screen. So - after much fiddling around I read the mailing list, and realised there are a few issues with the recent images. Decided to roll  back to version 150... then 149 (same issue) - then in an extreme step booted into fastboot, and ran the command to wipe everything and return to a stable image.

ubuntu-device-flash touch --channel=ubuntu-touch/stable/bq-aquaris.en --bootstrap --wipe

No dice. Even after manually wiping the cache and resetting the system manually in the recovery, my phone won't get past the bootup animation. Anyone know what else I could try?

+Chris Wayne Loving your scopecreator, however it doesn't work well for RSS feeds that don't have images - is there any way you can tweak this? I.e., a command like: "scopecreator create rss-nopic"

A couple sites I'm working on have no images in the rss feeds. Are you able to release an update?

Thanks again for your great work!

App Feedback  -

+Marcos Costales Loving your GPS Navigation App, but a couple bugs lately. Using 0.22 with my BQ 4.5 on r109 (latest rc-proposed), I can no longer save favorites. The dialogue comes up, but it doesn't save. Also, periodically I get an error message when starting up the app - "GPS Denied". Closing the app and restarting it doesn't help, I need to restart the whole device. None of the other gps apps are affected at this time (HERE, Google Maps, etc.), and the security settings note that GPS Navigation is one of the apps allowed to access my location.

Also, when I choose a location, the zoom out so I can see it and my route, sometimes the icon of where I am freezes - it looks like I am in one place, even though I am travelling. Restarting the map immediately puts me in the correct location.

Am wondering if something has changed in the core system with the latest updates that has broken things - as I'm on rc-proposed, this should hit everyone with OTA 6 shortly. Is there anything I can do to help debug it?

I have already deleted the .cache & .local files for the app, as well as reinstalling. Same bugs are present.

Cheers,

MItchell

What I love about linux - not "it didn't work so I ditched it", but "it wasn't working and heres my fix". M

I was fed up with a lot of bugs, laggy stuffs of ubuntu touch. So I have completely deleted .cache, .config and .local directories from device. In meantime needed to do initial configurations then restarted, setted up all accounts, now seems to be better, telegram is useable, browser is fast. Anyway i did it 10 mins ago ;)

App Feedback  -

Hi folks, just submitted a Google News app for review - there's another one in the store that's in German, fullscreen, etc. This one will integrate with Google Accounts, as well as a few other goodies.

I've just gotten this warning from the Automatic review -

online_accounts_googlenews_account-application_id:
Found 'id' in application tag

online_accounts_googlenews_account-service_id:
Found 'id' in service tag

What does it mean? I also got this using the Ubuntu SDK. Is this why it hasn't automatically been published? I.e., will I need to wait for a manual review? And how do I get rid of this warning? I get its related to the accounts integration, but I'm not sure how.

Thanks.
