Hey people - just installed Ubuntu Touch on a Pro5 - awesome! My cheap Anycast dongle is really laggy. Anyone able to tell me if the wireless display microsoft dongle is any better?

+Mitchell Reese Mine Microsoft dongle works more or less perfectly, the issue is that the bluetooth don't work. My mouse works intermittent and that may be kind of OK but the problem is that its the same with the keyboard and then you need to put in the keyboard password again and everything is then stop working.
So I guess if you have a mouse and keyboard working with the pro 5 then you will have a super experience buying a Microsoft dongle otherwise not.
Just as info the M10 works great with the keyboard and mouse...

Careful on Ebay with the Meizu Pro 5 folks... just heard from several retailers that it's hard to get at the moment - not sure how much stock is left... It's worth contacting the seller first to see if their listing actually exists, before finding out (as I have twice now) they can't actually get it in. Many sellers seem to list items they can get and ship them after they come. Low stock now for MX5 Pro's? Great idea to flash Ubuntu onto them... but they seem hard to get! Please post here if you've got a good lead for them in stock!

Having a few dramas getting a Meizu Pro 5 - 2 sellers have just failed me. Any recommendations for buying one? Ideally 64gb version, but happy to consider 32gb from a reliable retailer. Planning on flashing Ubuntu after getting one - happy to buy an android device.

Right now, the Owncloud changes seem to be targeted at OTA-13, the option is definitely there in rc-proposed :)

Desktop apps running in Ubuntu Touch on a Meizu Pro 5 - all tested as working. Images include VLC, Calibre, Scribus, and Audacity. Can't wait to try these on a big screen! Go go go convergence!

Thanks +Mitchell Reese. It's true, the native player is very good. The easiest way I've found to work is to just convert media using a tool like Handbrake rather than try to get stuff like avi or mkv to play on the device.

Can't resize xapps in created libertine container - they are stuck at the same size in the upper left corner of the screen... the rest of the window is black. Same in desktop mode - app starts in a small size window, but when I drag the window bigger app stays the same size, with black filling window space. Any ideas how to fix this?

Need some advice - wanting to create a cross-platform interactive map for ubuntu touch, ios, android, windoze etc. Am thinking easiest way is to have an online map using leaflet.js, and possibly maps marker. The task would then be to create 'wrapper apps' that display this, with html5/javascript coding when no connection with the server is present.

I'm wanting to use it for an interactive/immersive theatre project, where participants are hunting locations within a city. Each location would have a chsracter/task to interact with. Participants would be tracked through gps, possibly with directions to the next location. I'm wanting to involve hundreds of people at a time.

The app/site would stay up after the project as an interactive tourist map for the funding organisation. Any ideas? +Marcos Costales ? At this stage I'm researching, but am interested in paying someone to work with.

Thanks!

Suggestion: that's all doable on the web, so do it there first, and then if you get time and feel the need, make native wrapper apps for those platforms you want to (and all others can still use the web).
