I like quotes. Was watching TV & heard this one & found it noteworthy.

As an engineer the glass is not half empty or full, it's made to the wrong specifications.

Sometimes sayings will pop into my head. Was just watching a thing about guys who do wing suit jumps. Anyway, I thought...

When you push the envelope, sometimes you're the one that gets licked.

Someone my have already said or thought it? (as is often the case but, I looked it up and may have had an ORIGINAL thought?!) lol

Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.

Friedrich Nietzsche

I bet it is hard to be a cop.

I absolutely abhor politics.  Regardless of what side of the isle, they do not represent anyone other than themselves.
Sometimes they start out trying to represent the people but, they will conform or be ousted.  Some try to become ostentatious like Aaron Shock just to let the cronies know that he could potentially beat them on their own dole.  Regardless, there will be another round of elections.  Another opportunity for a connected individual to profit. Another round of us voting for the lesser of two evils.
None of these people are "representative" of the populous because they exist on "our" budget, serving their own interests.
Bernie Sanders is a Socialist.  If you are unaware of what the ideology entails...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialism
In my opinion it's a hop, skip & jump to communism.  i.e. More power to the "Government".?!?
I'm a proponent of Thomas Paine's https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Paine
Common Sense was a good read, as was Sense & Sensibility.
Vote with your mind, pocket book & freedom.

Also, know that you can be giving and compassionate on your own terms.  An individual, if you will.  A member of "Society, vested or not.

Are we so apathetic that the inept government needs to control us all?

Wake up or don't, our kids will have too & that will speak volumes about all of our constitution. :(

By definition, it's not just a document.

I'm watching a PBS documentary about the Civil War.  (I know I've seen it but was long ago)  Anyway, Sherman's march to the sea was not unlike Nagasaki or Hiroshima.  Just proof of annihilation until your defeat/capitulation ...do you want to cut your loses?  Kind of the basis for the cold war too, mutually assured mass destruction.

War is a horrible thing and very complex but to win or avert it, simple concepts are at play.  Simple, nasty, primitive things propel it.

Any peaceful God, please help us all! (and don't let the idea of you start no shit either, if capable? :)

I fear that it is all up to us...whoa, the personal responsibility.

Hi to those that curb freedom in the name of security.  The principle is a bit backasswards, IMO.

Solitude and loneliness are two different things. :)

Freaking Canadians. Sorry. :)

After watching the Republican BS tonight, I can hardly wait for the Democrats' BS.  Will there ever be a time that society will recognize all the candidates for what they are and who they serve?  Millions of dollars & corporate interests are needed just to have a chance to "rule" our nation.  Hardly what our forefathers envisioned with the idea of democracy.

Oh well, it is what it is.  As always, please vote for the lesser of two evils.  Good luck to us all!   I'm reluctant to say that I pray for better governance. (that idea can be kind of taboo & off putting for some) Lord knows I don't want to offend the hyper sensitive among us as my kids' world goes to hell!? :P
