Sweet. Craig Thompson's new graphic novel, Habibi just arrived on the library's new books shelf. Now, by rights I should probably leave it there for our patrons to discover, but what would you do?

All I know is that first, you've got to get mad.

You've gotta say, "I'm a human being, goddammit! My life has value!"

So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window, open it, and stick your head out and yell, "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!!"

Can anyone recommend a good web hosting service? Cheap would be nice, but reliable more important. Domain names, wordpress, and drupal support. Want to run a couple of blogs and experiment with drupal and other open source cms. Thanks.

"The real total was reportedly closer to $8 trillion"
Remember the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program with which the federal government came to the rescue of faltering banks in 2008? Well, according to a <a href="http://www.bloomberg.com/news/201...

The cynic in me has to note that PBS Newshour decided to cover the issue of why no banksters have gone to jail on what has to be one of their lowest traffic days of the year. And I have a sneaking suspicion I got the call to go on the show because it was not exactly easy to find people willing to be taped late in the afternoon on the day before Thanksgiving (they did have to go to the trouble not only of arranging for a studio in Alabama, but als...

Excellent interview with John Sayles. Makes me want to go back and re-watch every Sayles film.
Today, a Democracy Now! special with legendary independent filmmaker and author, John Sayles. Over the past three decades, he has directed 17 feature films, including "Return of the Secaucus Seven," "...

One of the most talked-about films this spring was Paolo Sorrentino's followup to "Il Divo," the oddball roadtrip movie "This Must Be The Place." Starring a Robert Smith-channeling Sean Penn, the film is an odd one, a gothic holocaust dramedy of sorts about an aging rocker who goes to find the SS officer who tortured his estranged father, who recently passed away. Reviews were mixed, but curiousity abounded not only for the chance to see Penn do ...
