Hello Google+

I've been quiet on here for a while, as I've been busy working on my new startup and dealing with weird  family stuff. Why do brothers-in-law turn into psychos? First one, now the other. Oh well.

Anyway, things are getting pretty exciting with my work and I'm hoping to launch near the end of the year.

I was planning to launch earlier, but had to take time out to help my wife with her book (I did the design, layout and editing work). It tool longer than planned, but Amazon is such a great publishing platform.

Thanks +Katarina Baricevic nice to hear from you too.

My wife's book is called "Nobody's Perfect" by Saher Jones and it is available on Amazon. It is a dark and disturbing true story, which is uplifting at the end.

Please let me know what you think. There will be a sequel at some point and maybe a film, if we can find the right people to make it.

Just a quick note to let everyone know that my wife's book is on sale on Amazon at a discount price for a while, as we're trying to spread the word to protect women from psychopaths that seem to love social networks.

The book is called Nobody's Perfect by Saher Jones and is available worldwide from Amazon, either paperback or on Kindle.

Everyone should read this shocking true story and tell their friends and family, so that women can be protected.

Please share this post too, as that'll help spread awareness. Thanks.

Edit to add: We've dropped the price to the minimum allowed by Amazon now, as helping people avoid these issues is way more important than making a few quid.

Saw this in the news and I wondered how common it is. In the Office Space world, the guy would probably get a promotion for showing initiative.

Hello from London. Thanks to +Rob Gordon that I found out about this.

By way of introduction, I've run several businesses over the years, starting when I was nine, collecting newspapers door-to-door for recycling and selling them. The truth is, I've never had a "proper job" and always worked for my own businesses.

My latest startup is all about empowering everyone to be able to build business applications, rather than the traditional method of relying on expensive teams of IT people or outsourcing to someone who doesn't really understand your business. I was planning to launch this year, but it has been re-scheduled to next year, as I took time out to help with the design and edit of my wife's book.

Grateful to +Cisco UKI for mentioning my startup, Appeos, on their Twitter feed earlier. It'd certainly be great to work with you guys on this.

I'm not convinced that €1m is going to make any difference.

Hello from London.

I've been building complex business applications for many years and have also run several successful startups. My latest startup is all about empowering people, so that anyone can build Enterprise Applications, without the normal delays, budget issues, etc.

I like to think of it as business applications for the 21st century, where anyone can build what they need and start using it right away.

I love Google+ and I'm more than happy to answer any questions people may have. Always happy to help.

If anyone would like to read a book which is very different to the usual stuff you find, please check out my wife's book, Nobody's Perfect by Saher Jones. It is available in paperback and Kindle versions on Amazon and has been getting great reviews and feedback.

Just got back from the USA after spending Christmas and the New Year in Florida with the family. Great holiday, but Disney parks, etc can be quite exhausting. It was especially exciting for my eight year old daughter who is now tall enough to go on the big roller coasters.

I'd like to wish all my Google Plus friends a happy, healthy and prosperous 2013.

This year I'm planning to concentrate 100% on launching my startup, Appeos, which will allow anyone to create business applications. It is non-trivial to do, but should help a lot of people. In an ideal world, I'd launch it in the USA, but it doesn't look like any meaningful progress will be made on a startup visa for UK-based entrepreneurs any time soon.

My folks lived there for a while - lots of interesting stuff in that area.  I love the north east coast of Florida - they also once ran a little campground on the beach in a town called Flagler Beach - good memories.

Introduction
Have recently been helping my wife with the design and edit for her first book: Nobody's Perfect by Saher Jones.

My main focus is working on a new startup business that allows anyone to create complex business applications, without the usual expensive IT developers, etc. Aiming to do launch early next year, so please follow me on Twitter @Appeos for updates and news.

All the previous times I have visited The Seafood Restaurant, it was good, but the most recent time was not good at all. The service was less attentive than usual and I also contracted food poisoning from raw shellfish in my starter. I wrote to Rick Stein, not to complain, really just to let him know what had happened, so that he could ensure his chefs double-checked the dish in future. Some time later, I received a very rude and blunt letter from Rick Stein telling me he wasn't interested in the matter at all. I can tolerate the occasional food poisoning from a seafood restaurant, but cannot tolerate such blatant rudeness, especially when I was just trying to help. Quite despicable behaviour really and not at all what you might expect from his TV persona. Sad really, as I've been a fan of Rick Stein for decades.
