The Pra Ram Tofu was too sweet and wasn't spicy even though I ordered it so, but was decent otherwise. Had take-out, so ignore the decor/service rating.

Probably the best (or 2nd best) Thai food I've had in all of San Francisco. Fantastic. There are about three or four other Thai places within a 2 minute walk of this place, and while I have tried some of the others, once I found Chai-Yo, I never looked back. I love the variety of food that they offer on their menu... I love the variety of drinks and teas they have, and they give you the option of adding boba pearls and other add ons. Mitchell's ice cream, as many people have stated before, is an option for dessert. Love the oreo flavor! They have the best shakes, slushies, and milk drinks I've ever tasted (Sorry Quickly!), and the food is great. I always order the green curry... and they always let me substitute tofu and prawns in it because I don't eat chicken or beef. These people let you order food how you want it, and they will make it as you want it. And there is simply something about their curry that makes it sooooo yummy and delicious, a step above other curries I've tasted that were okay to mediocre. I also love their fresh spring rolls with shrimp and crab meat. The price for appetizers is kind of expensive, I think (most are about $7.50), but they taste so good they are usually well worth it. The service is good, too, the waiters are very kind and effecient. Interesting to note, though that today, on their loudspeakers, they were playing this SUPER relaxing CELTIC music! Am not used to hearing CELTIC music in a THAI restaurant, but I love celtic music so I'm not complaining, it was just a little odd. This is definitely one of the best Thai restaurants in the city, and I'm really picky! I'm the type of person who refuses to really go back to a restaurant unless I really, really enjoy the food or unless friends wish to go there. There are only a few places that I really feel (and do) the urge to go back to again and again. Chai-yo is one of them.
