A leak of at least 300 tonnes of highly radioactive water was discovered at Japan's Fukushima nuclear plant on Monday: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-23776345

Now Japan's nuclear agency wants to raise the severity level of the water leak alert from one to three on an international scale - marking it as a "serious incident".

I'm back and this time I tackle the scouts! As always, like, share, +1, and comment, I always appreciate the feedback!
I am not a scout, never was one, never cared for it. However, I have had friends growing up who were and I can say that while I didn't care to be one, it was fun for them and I'd support that. Today, after a long break from w...

I wanted to talk about the why of why teachers are paid as little as they are. This is by no means a complete collection of information, but more of a nod to the problems in the public education system.
"Teaching is a Noble Profession." -The person who doesn't pay the teacher It is true, teaching is a noble profession, but if they were truly compensated for the work they do and the expertise they need then teaching would be ...

There are times when I am bothered by the way our leaders conduct themselves and this is an article I wrote up in response.

I've eaten here since the first year or two of him being in business. Manny is a great guy, cares about good food and good service. The restaurant is clean, well decorated, and has a pleasant atmosphere. He will come and get to know you if things are slow and he even has pictures up of guests from over the years. The Gyros are good, the Tatziki is good, it's a little pricier than what you WANT to pay, but the quality makes it worth it!

Many years ago I had some bad experiences with another shop and had lost hope of having my car worked on by people who knew about Mercedes. Then I found this shop. I'm an amateur mechanic and these guys have helped me out from day one. If I have a job I can't do myself, they take over. They always use good parts, give me options when I'm trying to save some money, and I have never once felt that they're trying to pull one over on me. Their honestly was confirmed when I brought my car in to have a window regulator replaced and the mechanic, Michel, turned down the job. I asked him why, he said "you already know how to do this, you've dome before. If I take it, I'm charging you an extra $90 for the labor. Save the money and do the repair on your own." From time to time they help me out by giving me advice or insight on a particular problem with my vehicles and ask nothing in return. They're good folks and so long as I can make it there, I'll always bring my vehicles to them.

Pretty lousy, but looks nice. Once a year my dad forgets that we don't like going here and we end up taking a meal. Last time we ate here we were one of only two tables with anyone sitting and dining. We could not get our waiter to serve us. The bussgirl ended up waiting on us. I ordered beef fajitas for one, it was pricier than normal and they gave me six very small pieces of meat, a mellon baller scoop of shredded cheese, a HUGE serving of onions and lettuce, and small pinch of pico. The location is a good one which means the pricey food is pricey for a good reason, but I can honestly get larger servings and better sides with my fajitas elsewhere. At the end of our visit, my dad handed the girl a cash tip and told her to pocket it because she was the only person up front doing any work.

I go here because I can see it from my house, but the reality is in the near 20 years, I can say that of all the sonics I've been to, this is the worst. There is roughly a 40% chance of them getting my order RIGHT (bacon cheese burger, plain, add mustard. Not hard at all). The staff is usually kids which is okay, but the poor kids look overwhelmed and they're not trained very well (not their fault). Last time I went here, I sat in the drive through for almost 30 minutes because they took the wrong order and had to remake it. The magic was (shame on me) that I didn't check the new one before leaving because they STILL got it wrong! I talked to someone from corporate, tried to be as polite as can be (yelling gets you nowhere) and she said she would forward the complaint to the area manager who would be instructed to call me to address certain issues. He/she never called. Do yourself a favor, just drive to the 290/Fry location or the Jones road locations or the Hwy 6 locations. This one is NOT worth it. Also, sonic corporate, if you're reading this: I'll be happy to change my review AFTER this place is fixed.

My girlfriend and visited this shop recently and we enjoyed it. They have a wide variety of caffeinated/decaffeinated drinks they can make and it has a relaxing atmosphere. I met one of the owners' daughter at the counter and she was very nice to us. There is a large patio gazebo out the front door, perfect for the cool autumn/winter months. I highly recommend visiting this shop, especially if you're looking for a change of pace.
