I would also like to congratulate the other photographers that I know on Fb such as Chip Phillips, Stian Klo, Alex Mody, Marc Adamus, Lars Van de Goor, Lurie Belegurschi, Mark Gvazdinskas, Nagesh Mahadev, and Timothy Poulton who all made the list..
Even the best photographers need inspiration. 500px is a beautiful playground for some of the best photographers in the industry, and also one of the most powerful tools for motivation. There’s no sifting through rubbish to find quality work in your feed, which is often a problem with various...

OK, I found out more. If you actually mean "Fly Geyser," then the above comments seem to be correct, the land owner may now be charging for entry (and requiring an insurance certificate); however, several geyser gazer friends went years ago without paying anything, the owner then was allowing free visitation.

However, T. Scott Bryan, author of "Geysers of Yellowstone," thought Black Rock Geyser might not be the same as "Fly Geyser." His comments are below:

"I believe that both previous respondents might be wrong, as this name implies that this is NOT the Fly Ranch thing.

"More likely it is a spring (probably the southernmost) in the 5+ mile long Double Hot Springs-Black Rock Hot Springs trend along the west face of the Black Rock Range. As the proverbial bird flies, this is about 45 miles northeast of Gerlach and roughly 25 miles east-northeast of the Fly Ranch area.

"Per Garside and Schilling (1979) (yes, it is getting dated), there are traces of travertine and siliceous sinter among these springs, of which the southernmost had a temperature of 202F, right at boiling for the altitude. That, perhaps, is the Black Rock Geyser."

So there you have it. Either way, it might be good to find someone who has been there recently to get the scoop. Good luck, would love to see your pics of the area!

Did not get much snow in the Lofotens while there but I am hoping next year will be better for winter conditions. So I made due and shot a lot of beach scenes.
Thanks for looking !
Much appreciated.

Another image from my recent trip to Big Sur. This is an image of Pigeon Point Lighthouse which is a great place to shoot ice plants during the months of Feb and March. In the image the abundance of the red in the foliage is the ice plants. The really make the image "pop" with color. Thanks so much for looking…

I know..I know.. I know.. so very iconic.. But I loved the amount of snow !!
Made a trip to California to shoot the coast but a late announcement of snow overnight in Yosemite caused us to change our plans and head their for the day.. I can't think of better places when it comes to winter scenes..
