Many people have observed that advances in technology do not progress in a linear fashion.  It is remarkable that advances happen in lurches and great leaps and often by serendipity.  It seems to me that the development of vacuum channel transistors may be another of those great leaps that has the potential to change our world.

Here is the reason that reasonable officials in government have adhered strictly to the rule that the US never negotiates with terrorists.  It has never been more clear that Obama and other current leaders are not reasonable people.

The foreign policy is not only dangerous - it is incoherent. We are a rudderless nation.

I could not be more disappointed by the Supreme Court decision that campaign contributions are the same as free speech.  At a time when our government is moving toward more corruption we should be finding ways to wring the money out of the political process.

+Ryan Poff you are certainly correct.  I didn't mean to imply that we can stop the influence of money.  We need to find ways to reverse it.  Any ideas???

The shock from reading that Larry King believes that there is no bias in the media leaves me almost speechless

A new world alliance has formed to thwart Obama's push to redistribute wealth on a world wide basis.
Tony Abbott is seeking a conservative alliance among 'like-minded' countries, aiming to dismantle global moves to introduce carbon pricing, and undermine a push by US President Barack Obama to push the case for action through forums such as the G20.

Here is why government subsidies of low rate student loans damages the entire higher education system.
BALTIMORE (AP) — The number of public college presidents earning over $1 million more than doubled in the 2012-2013 fiscal year from the year before, according to a new survey.

What a relief to see this guy out of our face.  America did not turn on him like he says.  He turned on America and America responded.  The only thing left to do is to deport the sob

I would rather see CNN and MSNBC shut down entirely.

It seems to me that a democracy depends heavily on well informed voters to make the correct choices.  If that's the case, doesn't the news media have a moral imperative to report truthfully, fully, and without bias.  To that end how can the media be pressured to do the right thing without infringing their first amendment rights?

Well, +Michael Behrens I'm afraid you are correct, but with the strong link between legislators and big money with nobody to report it and nobody interested if it was reported, our country may already be lost.

The food and service were surprisingly good. I had grilled tuna. It was a large portion on a bed of rice; done perfectly - slightly rare, and spiced just right. I cannot remember having better.

We cannot recommend Rincon highly enough. Food is authentic Cuban and very tasty. Portions are large enough that we always take some home. Cost is very inexpensive. The service is more than friendly - we have always been treated like family even though we are not Cuban.
