The 3 Levels of Knowledge - The more I live in the Knowledge Management business, the more I realize that there is no common understanding of what is Knowledge. The more I try to define it, the more I realize it’s about connections and actions. Knowledge is alive, it must go on. This post is a bit long and may end up being split into pieces. All pieces will be available from this URI. Level 1: Facts Lists I was surprised was when I tried to start a team in India and explained the objectives...

Optimum Productivity Brand Script - I learned this style of organizing thought in view of writing marketing copy in a Facebook group with Michael Hyatt last month. I quote him “This is NOT sales copy; it is merely an internal document designed to help us get clear on who the customer is, what they want, and how we can help them succeed.” I didn’t attend Donald Miller’s StoryBrand framework course (starting this week https://storybrand.com/online-marketing-workshop), so my understanding of t...

How I build my PKM compass from my goals - I keep coming to this compass Idea. I wish to go back to it with some new ideas before we get into sorting incoming fragments. Having a compass is the way to make sure we stay on the right track as we keep discovering new ideas, reading new posts, receiving messages. It’s easy to be distracted by the latest brilliant model. It’s easy to be influenced and loose originality and creativity. It’s easy to just loose time to make sense of everything that...

Identifying what’s coming in - When I stopped thinking in term of Knowledge, the obvious alternative was to think in term of Information. Instantly I slip on step further to Information flows and what is coming to me. This post is a follow of A PKM Clean Start and is part of the 30 days Brainstorm Challenge initiated by Shannon Tipton. My goal here is to show how I identify each and every incoming fragment and a suggested way to analyze it. I take my example but I generalized it based on pa...

A PKM Clean start - It took me a while to realize that I don’t have a PKM framework and an associated strategy. Wait! Bruno, you, the bright mastermind of Kneaver, the killing PKM app you don’t have a well-crafted, super exciting framework to offer? So it means you just pretended? No, this was an aha moment I had while reading Stan Garfield roundup of links on PKM. I read it and saw all the definitions of PKM people used. Nobody agrees on anything substantial. Some talk about Knowledge, oth...

5 ideas for L&D - Let’s start as usual to remind you that I’m not an L&D practitioner. Yet I have been several times in a role also very important: the top manager of small companies specialized in software innovation. I always favored turning our organization into a learning organization. To build a learning muscle right inside it. I also like to listen to people, how they learn, how they work. This gives me a larger vision of how people practice their work across different occupations. Le...

50 Shades of Working Out Loud - Nowadays everyone is adopting Working Out Loud and/or Show your work. How comes people don’t describe the same practice when they get in detail into it? How comes the more I practice, the less I recognize myself in what thought leaders describe as Working Out Loud? Did I abuse the reading of rebels like @VioletaNedkova and @stipton and became a rebel myself? I consider myself as a doer and an experimenter, not an influencer or a thought leader. In fact, the m...

Hashtracking #ADT2016 - It is said that Twitter is the #1 tool for learning in the L&D space. I think it’s true also in the Marketing and community management domain. yet I feel this is a controversial statement. Twitter suffer from its inception of a heavy audience churn rate. People join, spend a few minutes and leave for never coming back. Totally at the opposite of Facebook. Not only Twitte users base grow slowly but most didn’t check in for months. Could it be that Twitter can’t show t...

The Tao of Twitter lists - Tao is an ancient Chinese philosophy that influenced Zen a Japanese lifestyle practice. I named my post like this because I felt that those ideas and guidelines will let you regain a Zen-like practice of Twitter and social media. To master something and reach zen-itude we need to understand the forces and concepts underneath and how they interact like yin and yang. On social media marketing and learning are the opposed forces. We have to use both for what they are...

Today is day #1 of my 24 days pivot - Yesterday I experienced a disappointment when my life line: the landline went down. It’s due to multiple factors among which a consequence of my lack of success in my business in Kneaver. The cut is temporary and I have to rely on my mobile line for a few days. In fact I was looking forward being interrupted as I will explain below. I worked non-stop for 8 months, 14 hours a day, on my computer from wake up to lights off, 7 days a week. I didn’t break, ...
