AT ALLER AQUA WE BELIEVE IN A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

At Aller Aqua we support UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and we are proud to be part of a sustainable future. Although we work with a majority of the goals in the daily running of our business, we have chosen four goals to focus our efforts. We focus on goal 2 (Zero Hunger), goal 8 (Decent work and economic growth), goal 13 (Climate action) and goal 14 (Life below water).
These cover the areas where we can have the biggest impact. At the same time the four goals are very close to our hearts and in line with our vision: Let’s grow together.

One of the steps we are taking to help meet the goals is participation in SDG Accelerator. SDG Accelerator is a UNDP programme that aspires to accelerate business solutions for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The programme is funded by The Danish Industry Foundation and is tested in Denmark in 2018 and 2019 with 30 Danish small and medium-sized industrial companies and then the aim is to roll out across the Nordics and globally. Aller Aqua is part of the first 15 companies.

The SDG Accelerator runs for two years and offers the participating companies a unique opportunity for developing business solutions with a significant business potential and impact on the SDGs. Their work will be communicated to inspire other companies and make visible how the new global agenda for sustainable development can be operationalised in a business context, creating business benefits and impact on the SDGs.

We look forward to working together with UNDP, The Danish Industry Foundation, Monitor Deloitte and the other participating companies to build a better future for everyone through SDG Accelerator.

Follow the hashtag #SDGAccelerator and find more information about the programme here: http://www.dk.undp.org/content/denmark/da_dk/home/presscenter/articles/2018/02/14/sdg-accelerator-new-business-solutions-with-the-un-sustainable-development-goals.html

MORE ATTENDEES THAN EVER AT THE FISH FARMERS EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS IN NIGERIA

Aller Aqua Nigeria successfully trained more than 1700 fish farmers across Nigeria in the recent Farmers Educational Workshops. The number of participants continues to rise and is up approx. 300 participants from last year.

Aller Aqua Nigeria yearly hosts several workshops designed to enable fish farmers to grow their business in line with Aller Aqua’s “Let’s grow together!” approach.

The workshops heighten the level of knowledge of fish farming in the country, as well as promote aquaculture in line with the government’s goal of bridging the supply gap. The workshops further help target the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals – particularly Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), by enabling farmers to create a healthy living and provide food and jobs.

All attendees were given certificates for their participation, which in 2018 focused on enabling fish farmers to grow their business.

We hope for even more participants next year! Will we see you there?

SEASONS' GREETINGS

As we look back at 2017, we would like to express our gratitude to customers, suppliers and friends of Aller Aqua. We have valued the strong relationships we have and the positive cooperation we see everyday and everywhere.

A BUSY YEAR FOR ALLER AQUA
2017 has been exceptional for Aller Aqua on many levels, below you can see some of the highlights:
- We launched Power 2 - Feed formulated for nutrient digestibility
- We launched ALLER ACTIVE
- We doubled our production capacity worldwide by opening a factory in Zambia, one in China and expanding production in Egypt with a 3rd extruder line
- We have won awards in Egypt, Poland, Denmark and IFFO's 57th Annual Conference for our dedicated work both in terms of expanding the business, our high quality products and responsible approach to building new factories.

We believe that we should all grow together, and thus ensure that our cooperations are beneficial for everyone involved. This a part of the reason for our progress over the last year. This will not change in 2018!

We look forward to collaborating with you next year, and would like to take this opportunity to extend our seasons greeting to your and your families.

The General Consul of Chengdu visited Aller Aqua Research

As Aller Aqua inaugurated Aller Aqua Qingdao, the company’s sixth factory, Aller Aqua Research and the mariCUBE received a visit from Dr. Klaus Schmidt, General Consul in Chengdu.
Dr. Schmidt explained that businesses and authorities in China are very interested in German products. Germany is considered exemplary in terms of environmental protection and nature conservation. Dr. Schmidt was shown the aquaculture facility, and the setup of the research centre. The production of fish feed supports the growing aquaculture industry in China, and the research carried out in Büsum has a big impact on the growth and health of fish, and the feeds we sell in China. Incidentally, the new fish feed factory in Qingdao, China, opened one day before the visit.
