After a back-and-forth contest in the first 10 minutes of the game, Buffalo State took over and went into the half up 31-21. Oneonta cut the deficit to five with 3:07 left but the Bengals held on for the win, improving to 4-0. Olivia Luciani scored a team-high 15 points and Bianca Smiley had a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards
Buffalo State scored six goals in the first two periods en route to a 6-1 win over its I-90 rival Brockport. Adam Rossi, Mike Zannella and Todd Graham each scored a scored and an assist. Taylor Price and Ryan Salkeld had two assists apiece.
Buffalo State trailed by 11 with just over 4 minutes remaining, but Branden Rushton hit a layup with 20 seconds left to give Ohio Northern a 79-77 lead. The Bengals had a chance to send it to over time but Justin Mitchell missed his shot.
Buffalo State women's basketball improved to 5-0 defeating New Paltz convincingly. The Bengals took midway through the 1st on a 15-3 run and never looked back. Bianca Smiley scored 26 points and racked up a career-high 16 boards. Staci McElroy had 22 points in the offensive explosion.
