Buffalo State forced 25 New Paltz turnovers, while committing just 10 and used the transition game to defeat the Hawks 109-99. Justin Mitchell netted a career-high 35 points and became the 20th Bengal in school history to reach 1,000 points. Bradley Doyley and Chris Thompson also posted career-bests with 23 and 18 points, respectively. Buffalo State is tied for first in SUNYAC at 2-0 with Oswego.

After a back-and-forth contest in the first 10 minutes of the game, Buffalo State took over and went into the half up 31-21. Oneonta cut the deficit to five with 3:07 left but the Bengals held on for the win, improving to 4-0. Olivia Luciani scored a team-high 15 points and Bianca Smiley had a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards

Buffalo State women's basketball improved to 5-0 defeating New Paltz convincingly. The Bengals took midway through the 1st on a 15-3 run and never looked back. Bianca Smiley scored 26 points and racked up a career-high 16 boards. Staci McElroy had 22 points in the offensive explosion.

Oneonta never threatened in the second half and the Bengals improved to .500 with an 89-68 victory. Justin Mitchell led the way with 27 points and 12 rebounds
