We have used this outfitter for many years, not nearly as often as we would have liked to. Wife and I led several BSA trips out of here and her and I led several other trips with friends out of Williams and Hall. Great people to work with. What I especially have liked is that they let you choose what level of 'help' that you need from them. They are not overbearing like some others. You can provide all your own equipment like us or go for full outfitting with a guide or a swamper to go along. Do take them up n the ride to the border. It saves a lot of time. We hope to go again, just need to find a couple of young people to help with the portages.

So disappointed. China Hill was our 'go to' place every visit to ME. Lunch was just nasty. Lots of food and we took it with us. So nasty we tossed it out the next day. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Wife and I had passed through Truro 44 years ago on our honeymoon. Wanted to stop back and see Victoria Park where we had briefly camped on our way to The Cabot Trail. Asked the Maintenance guy if he knew of someplace close by that had good food at a reasonable price. He told us of Murphy's Fish & Chips, just a couple of blocks away. The fish and chips were Great! The wait staff was wonderful. But the best part was the owner, Mike. Cool guy. Had a nice conversation with him and feel like we made friends as well as had a good meal at a decent price. Mike, you are welcome in my home anytime. I recommend this place to anyone who would like a casual meal at a fair price. And you too might end up with a interesting conversation with the owner. Note: the parking is a little tight directly in front of the place, but additional parking is available down the block a bit.

Please note the names of people who wrote glowing reports of this place. Indian, likely close friends or relatives of the Indians who run the place. This is NOT a 4 or 5 star place as described by their buddies. It is clean and quiet and warrants a 2 or maybe a 3 star. Bed was comfortable, TV worked, heat unit was noisy, but worked okay. We were looking for a clean, comfortable, cheap place. We found it. Only real disappointment (we knew it was an older place so our expectations were not high) was the 'continental breakfast'. We went to the office to get a cup of coffee. There was nothing on the counter but a coffee urn. I asked about the promised danish (I did ask at check in). "No Danish, would you like cereal?' We had breakfast at Friendlies on the W side of Corning. Do not hope for anything but coffee. We might stay there again, but will also look for something better.

FINALLY found a really good place to go for Chinese food. Wife and I find this to be a very good value and most important great food. I highly recommend them over any other Asian restaurant in the Bar Harbor or Ellsworth area.

Fantastic place, great owners, the White Mtn area has lots ot things to see and do. It would take years just to see all the sights. Absolutely lovely Inn. I expect that we will be back often.

Not an elegant dining experience but the Chinese food is very good. You cannot eat the decor. Wife and I stop in once in a while on a Friday for lunch. Best Chinese food we have found in Winchester (been here 8 months). Price is very reasonable.
