So, let me get this straight ... he just said that he didn't want to hear "church music" ... he wanted to hear about her husband cheating on her ... and about the forgiveness.  AND he states that Warryn should have produced the whole album ... again, a collection of slanted opinions.  Oh, and why didn't spend more time celebrating what you liked, instead of what you didn't like?  Just sayin'.

My uncle has been a DJ for years, and I begged him to make me a tape (cassette) when I was a teenager of certain music.  He used this song as the second-to-last track on it.  I never forgot it.  Great memories.

When I discovered the remix to Common's "Resurrection" was based on this ... I realized how talented Spirit was and looked at more of their music.  Highly gifted.  One thing about hip-hop and sampling, is that people forget that it exposes new people to music that wasn't on their radar.  (Shout out to Large Professor for the production and the group itself.)

I get it.  You don't want to be lumped into the "bucket" of typical Christmas Commercials.  The smaller problem is that you alienate those who believe Christmas is a typical, if no other day, is appreciated and celebrated.  The bigger problem is ... those of us who made Christmas such a a commercial thing.  It's about commemorating Christmas as a holy-day ... a day to set apart to celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ.  K-Mart, especially with that cake, basically said, we want you to come to our store and buy stuff tied to the Christmas holiday, but ... we are okay with disassociating ourself with Christmas as a whole.

If you know anything about retail, we know that Christmas can make or break a retail store.  Let's hope that K-Mart hasn't gone as far as to expose themselves as to pursue sales ... even if it means appearing unfriendly to those who are Christians and those who believe in what Christmas represents.

... experiencing a moment of nostalgia.  Remembering the good ol' days on WKNC.  Doing live mixes without mixers, using crude slip mats and logging crates of records around.  My ... how things have changed.  #wknc #underground88

Be careful never to grant someone a first-class seat on your journey of life, if you know that you will only obtain a coach seat on theirs.  #rearrangingthings

Some would say that #pauladeen  needed to have some level of repercussion in those racism-laced remarks she has made over the years.  I submit a lot more people truly have racism in their hearts than you know ... the difference is that she's Paula Deen ... on TV ... and most folks are not.  Racism is learned, not inbred.   #wegottadobetter

First, opinions are just like mouths.  Just about everybody has one.  Secondly, the fact that he stopped and said, "I'm not a hater" ... when you have to stop and qualify yourself, you know you are a hater.  Thirdly, he does compare it to Judy Jacobs or Juanita Bynum ... it's a style preference.  So again, it's an opinion.  Nothing more.

Finally, he spends the last two minutes on this part of things not critiquing the album - but critiquing her (Tina) personally and the album cover (seriously, does that matter that much?).  Even if you play gospel music or are in the "gospel industry" ... doesn't mean that the gospel/the church is in you personally. Do you really think what you said is reflective of a heart for God and His people? I really don't think so.

My summary: to others who look at this video ... "move on ... there's nothing to see here".

What will always get me about this performance - this was before Soul Train had the performers lip-syncing to a track.  Eddie Levert sang the lead live.  The proof ... if you listen to the real song, he sang the wrong lyrics to the first part of verse one.  However, the musicianship shines through, and it proves that these were real performers.  While there are a few of them around now, there are far fewer.  You really had to have lasting talent to do music back then.

I'm amazed at some things I see online.  One minute I see you are on an "anti-male" kick, saying how bad men are.  Days later, you are giving props to men on Father's Day ... still days later, you bash men and question their relevance and purpose in the world.  Hmmm ...  #malebashing  SMH ...

I was recommended to Holt & Sons by a friend. I was having trouble with my car for a month or so, and it eventually died. I called them the next morning and they had my car that afternoon, and fixed it by the next morning. I drove off, and had a subsequent problem. I brought it back and they identified the problem that was unrelated to the original repair. I then took to the place they suggested - and it's finally fixed. Holt & Sons were professional in everything they did. I recommend them highly. I'm sure the commercialized places would have tried to hose me ... they didn't. I have the highest regard for them and recommend them to anyone in the SW Wake County area for car repairs.
