The food at the Casa is neither very good nor very bad. It you are looking for neutral, safely-Americanized Mexicanesque cuisine this place is for you. It is a champion of the mediocre. You won't burn your tongue on anything too spicy, but you're not likely to say "Wow!" either. Goldilocks would approve and she'd fit right into the vanilla-white suburbanite crowd. The outdoor seating is nice but you might need a flare-gun to signal a waiter.

The outside did not look like much, but everything else was great. The salsa was a little peppery though.

karaoke was awesome, drunk people not, and didn't even get a refill after asking point blank multiple times.

For some years, Casa Manana was my favorite Tex-Mex restaurant in Little Rock. It's family-run, and the people who own and operate it are gems--friendly, hard-working, offering good value for your dollar. The place is spotless, and service is always outstanding. With the arrival of real Mexican places as more and more Latinos move to the area, it's hard to put Casa Manana at the top of the list of Mexican places anymore, since it's a Tex-Mex and not a Mexican restaurant. What it does well, it does outstandingly well. Its margaritas are the best in town. I love its egg dishes, and Casa Manana is one of Little Rock's best undiscovered brunch places on Sunday, because of them. In nice weather, there's no better Sunday-morning experience in town than to sit on the patio and enjoy huevos rancheros or divorciados. I do have some reservations about the food, though. When guacamole is called for as a garnish, Casa Manana uses, instead of real guacamole, that strange light-green paste that seems to crop up on many Tex-Mex menus, some indistinguishable glop of avocado and mayonnaise, insipid and unappealing. It would be better either to leave it off altogether or provide a scoop of the real thing--which Casa Manana does make and does well, if you order guacamole as a dish in itself. I find the chips unappealing, too. Here, my complaint has to do with the fact that they seem to be fried in either lard or tallow. After eating a few, I find my tongue coated with animal fat, and that makes the rest of the dining experience less savory. These are minor complaints. This is an outstanding Tex-Mex restaurant, and the people running it couldn't be nicer. It deserves support, and fills a real niche Tex-Mex places in Little Rock.

I have lived in many different states, and as Mexican food is my favorite, I have tried many different Mexican restaurants. This one by far is my favorite. They have a huge selection of everything from the regular taco to a very authentic mole. Everything there is made from scratch and not some seasoning packages. Even the chips are made there, and are not the bagged variaty. The margaritas are outstanding, and just recently they have added the much needed tap beer. While on my weekly trips there is the very occasional misunderstanding, the service is really good. I am now offically addicted to the food, and I am lucky since it is not too expensive. My advice to anyone looking for a real authentic Mexican restaurant....try Casa Manana and you won't be dissapointed.
