The SciShow is a new popular internet series with fun, cartoon-y, little blurbs about some science related topic.  They're always encouraging fan suggestions for topics, so you may not be surprised to find this one is about the LFTR.  Props to whoever got them to cover this.

+Solve for X is a great set of talks. The osmosis talk really actually taught me something, and this is a subject I've read papers about. Linked comic describes how I feel about it.

I am a huge fan of the new and innovative teaching methods championed by various web communities. This is a recent addition to my list, and I see lots of potential in it. Simulation and visualization tools are nothing new, but the key to getting a generation of students hooked on them is to have it do something cool right away when clicked, and then offer a wide range of ways to tinker so that they can go as deep in the water as they feel like. With only 10k views per month, I consider this to be almost stealth. Hey, I know of a group of guys who made a blog that got over 10k views!

For all of those who were upset by the Facebook quiz where 50% of the people thought 40 + 40*0=0... I just want you to know that according to Google the following is true:

1 m^2 / kg * kg/s = 1 m^2 / kg / (kg/s)

See, even our smartest computers get order of operations wrong sometimes.
