This was one of the best fights I ever saw until it ended the way it did; it actually happened on my birthday in '95. If McClellan had just been KO'd and recovered, it would be remembered as one of the best fights of the 1990s.
No way you'd stick a 3.4 on a car the size of a LeSabre. On a larger car, a 3.8 is far more efficient and powerful. I can get 30 mpg on the highway easily in my '97 LeSabre with the 3.8. A 60-degree 3.4 would be overtaxed trying to power a car of its size and curb weight. Buick knew what they were doing.
I remember thinking before that inning started that it had been a dream season but we were all going to have to wake up soon. When that ball landed in the bullpen, my first thought was that no, it wasn't going to end until the Red Sox were World Champions again.
