Interesting article - New Zealand harm reduction approach. The comparison with Australia's failed criminal approach couldn't be more obvious.

It seems either the company running click frenzy underestimated the level of traffic or the IT company failed to deliver.

The twitter feed as always was amusing - almost as much fun as reading the excuses from those involved.

Mike Carlton SMH - 100% agree with his commentary.

MC on  Cardinal George Pell "With self-serving hypocrisy, Pell delivered yet another slap in the face to those hundreds if not thousands of children, and their families, who suffered abuse."

MC on Gregory Cooper (Senior police officer involved in Taser incident) "He should be flung out on his ear, which can be done at a stroke by the withdrawal of the commissioner's confidence."

MC on  Eddie Obeid "The reptilian Obeid was ever an operator for whom the phrase "colourful Sydney businessman" was sadly inadequate."

CCTV = is it really worth the investment? City of Sydney spends almost $1.7 million annually - could that be better spent on other crime prevention methods?

Alan Jones is such an embarrassment. Despite his apology today this has to be one of the most obnoxious and low life things to say. Obviously he has no brain to engage otherwise he wouldn't have repeated such a disgusting comment not matter what your views on a person let alone the Prime Minister of Australia.

Ross Gittin provides some facts on super concessions
1) the top 5 per cent of income earners get 37 per cent of the cost of super tax concessions
2) within a few years, the rapidly growing revenue forgone on super tax concessions is projected to equal the cost of the age pension itself: $45 billion a year.
3) But as best Denniss and Richardson can determine, it costs the taxpayer $2 for every $1 saved. That's an overall average, of course. People at the top would save a lot more than $2 for every $1 they gave up, while many towards the bottom would save less than they gave up.
