The need of the hour is to bring back the Green Glory of our Earth. Remember, Earth does not need us, we need Earth for we have no other place in the universe to go.
Earth will continue to live and thrive with or without us. Even if humanity were to destroy itself in a nuclear war, the Earth will spring back to life within a matter of few thousand years, and a few thousand years after that, there probably won't even be any traces of humans having lived on this planet ever, and the entire planet would be back to its dense green cover of forests and various life forms living happily.
Even a natural Super Volcano can do a better job than a man made nuclear war. Man can never control nature. We are still a civilization meeting a significant portion of our energy needs by simply burning up remnants of our ancestors - fossil fuel.
While modern science talks and works towards "controlling nature", the ancient vedic science talks about "milking the nature" without harming it in any way. A bird builds its nest without altering or harming the landscape around it. On the other hand humans have caused numerous species on this planet to go extinct.
If the entire history of Mother Earth was written into a 1000 page book, humans would appear only somewhere at the end of last line of the last page, that is our (in)significant presence on this planet.
