Kate went to the Lancaster Hotel in London this week to try out their Afternoon Tea. Children eat free during the summer holidays too! Here's what Kate thought.

A couple of weeks ago, I was lucky enough to attend The Eden Sessions down at the Eden Project in Cornwall. You can read more about that over at WitWitWoo, but I thought I would take this opportunity to talk about the accommodation that was provided - the fabulous Snoozebox!

We're delighted to have our first guest post on the blog today - a fantastic piece on Marrakech by Surinder Manku, a freelance travel PR consultant. Surinder has 20 years’ experience in the travel industry, from airlines to cruise companies, and we just love how she has brought Marrakech to life. Enjoy!

Last year, Kate was lucky enough to be invited on a cruise by MSC Cruises, reporting for Cruise International magazine. It was MSC Armonia’s inaugural sail after its extensive refurbishment and lengthening, which took place in November 2014. The ship sailed from Genoa to the Canary Islands, although I disembarked at Cartegna, Spain. You can read the full review of her trip over at Cruise International magazine, but one of the day trips she took was to Marseille.

Here are Kate's top picks for the perfect summer read!

"The one thing I’m looking forward to the most? Reading a book. A whole book. From beginning to end. I can’t remember the last time I managed that (probably my last summer holiday), but I thought it might be prudent to begin the search for what is going to be my summer holiday read."

Kate searched for the perfect London hotel last month, and here is what she found!

"I always find staying in hotels one of life’s most glorious luxuries. Especially if I find myself in a room on my own. Now don’t get me wrong, I love holidaying with Dexter but there’s something really decadent about spending the night alone in a hotel room. And a couple of weeks ago, I found myself doing just that."

As the summer holidays approach, if you are a family who has a whole 7 weeks ahead of you to fill, it can feel daunting and expensive! So in this series we thought we would give you some top tips of things to do for free in the big smoke. Starting off with London.  I’m not sure if you are aware, but during school holidays is actually one of the best times to visit one of the UK’s cities, as this is when they have some of the best Hotel deals available.  As many people will be off abroad or visiting the coast, it can also be a time that is less crowded…yes really!

Amanda has recently returned from an amazing trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar with +Coca. Cola. Here, she talks about the spice farm she visited.

"Zanzibar is somewhere I’d researched before with relish, even collected images of, whilst I had been thinking of places I would most like to visit on my travels.  Pinterest really is your friend when it comes to planning travel I think. This small group of islands off the coast of Tanzania are full of history, especially as it was the main port for the slave trade in the area, during many years of its history. Interestingly, it also has exporting and growing of spices as a main industry, and that’s what we were going to explore on this trip."

Typically the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius is better known as a honeymoon or celebratory destination, but in recent years it’s become more and more popular as a family holiday destination.

Jen has just returned from a family holiday to Mauritius and tells us all about her trip in this blog post.
