+Phillip Green I saw this and immediately thought of you. They even have a NonNull annotation to keep from having to add all those null checks.

Exactly.  That is really nice.  Thanks for the link.  We aren't currently using lombak, but I mostly forgot about it.  Perhaps I can slip it in.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/GamerGate/Proposed_decision

DISCLAIMER: I have in no way had any kind of proper time to go through this and make any kind of informative opinion. (I have read quite a bit by no means do I fully understand the whole of it)

DISCLAIMER: I am also pro GamerGate and believe the wiki article has been terribly one sided since the start.

My preliminary review is that, hopefully the GamerGate article will be able to be edited by more unbiased individuals and show a more neutral point of view.

OPINION: I was incredibly shocked by the ability of wiki to be influenced by a single faction. This went against everything I believed wikipedia to be. I had previously believed it to be a very credible source.

Fuck you sexist feminists. 1.) A guy can't hit a girl. Sexist. 2.) Domestic violence only affects women. Sexist. 3.) Rape only happens to women. Sexist.

This is normal distribution, also known as the bell curve. When talking about equality it is important to remember no single person is normal. They may have certain traits that would put them high on the distribution of one graph but might fall short on the graph of another trait. When we talk about equality we like to believe that everyone is equal. This isn't true. While some will balance out and score high on one or more traits and score low on others. Normal distribution tells us that people, in general, follow the same graph. When you look at people as a whole, they will fall into the same distribution. This isn't a bad thing. This is how things are. We are mostly equal and it is important that we not ignore those that fall on the lower half of the distribution. It is important that we, as a species, acknowledge we are mostly equal but need to care for those that fall short.

I agree with the content, it was the delivery full of f-bombs that had me close to feeling verbally assaulted.

To me #GamerGate is about equality and this is why:
Games are meant for entertainment. A game is, to quote wiktionary: A playful or competitive activity (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/game#Noun) and a gamer is someone that plays games. According to wikipedia a gamer is someone that plays video games or board games (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamer). Games are meant for entertainment, for fun.

I will make the argument that games bring people together. Wil Wheaton created the show TableTop, which brings together many individuals to play games. As a result board games are getting great exposure and more people are gaming. Many families will disagree on many topics, but can come together to play a game and have fun. Games are about coming together and having fun. Games have brought people together countless times no matter how different their ideas may be.

Games have always been about bringing people that might otherwise disagree together in a fun environment. Gamers have always been a very different demographic. To me, games have always been about people coming together, no matter how different they are, to enjoy a common thing; fun.
English[edit]. Etymology[edit]. From Middle English game, gamen, gammen, from Old English gamen (“sport, joy, mirth, pastime, game, amusement, pleasure”), from Proto-Germanic *gamaną (“amusement, pleasure, game", literally "participation, communion, people together”), from *ga- (collective ...

http://gamergate.me/2014/10/what-is-gamergate/

What I've learned today: GamerGate is a real thing. Mainstream media is only reporting what the corrupt gaming media is reporting. It will eventually be made apparent that the people claiming to be victims are not actually victims. Rather they are creating a false social culture war that they are trying to use to hide the facts. I encourage everyone to read this site and see what is actually happening.

This is not about a bunch of misogynist gamers attacking women. It's about a corrupt game media and possibly game industry trying to protect themselves by flaming on gamers and accusing ALL of them of being sexist and hating women.

How this has been so one sided in the media coverage and that it even made it past the Colbert Report is beyond me. Knowledge is power. Knowing is half the battle.
10/27/2014 – Editor’s note: In light of the growing rhetoric about ‘culture wars’ on twitter and elsewhere, I’ve decided to revise this article. Having strongly considered the implications of the culture war narrative, I think it wise to distance ourselves from it. The ‘Gamers are Dead’ articles did undoubtedly make it a matter of us …

+Marty Robinson Yeah I'm a little late to this thing. I really like this video I just found today that actually brings some people together to discuss it: #GamerGate Crush Saga: Episode One I'm still catching up on a lot of it and most of this stuff doesn't have much coverage so excuse me for sharing older stuff but I'm just trying to share some as I learn about it.
