+Leonor Gomes Each individual has a unique set of ideas. So if an individual dies it may take other people longer to discover the same problems or solutions. Putting a summary in the intro makes sense so that people know what the point of the book is and can look for problems with the arguments since they know what the arguments are intended to explain.

Monty Hall problem. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monty_Hall_problem Consider a different problem first: you're faced with the same three boxes but now you can choose any one box OR any two boxes, and in the latter case receive the better of the two contents. It's always better to choose two boxes, right? But the rules of the original game allow you to choose two! Here's how. First point to the remaining box i.e. the one you're not going to choose. Then Monty will open the worse of the two boxes you chose, and you take the better one.

Some people do better when the numbers are bigger.

I like to change it to have 100 doors.  You pick door #1 and Monty shows you 2-99 but skips door #79.  Do you really think you're as likely to have picked the right door as it being the one out of 99 that Monty chose not to show you?  Then try to explain that the original game is the same, except that it's 2:1 rather than 99:1.

As usual, trying to understand entanglement (in this case, entanglement swapping) via wave-function collapse makes one very confused about what's going on: http://goo.gl/nCeqO  Unfortunately, confused explanations often make excellent headlines.

It's the same explanation as the one we gave in this paper: http://arxiv.org/abs/quant-ph/9906007.pdf

Tim Maudlin says meh about the Fine Tuning Problem. http://www.aeonmagazine.com/nature-and-cosmos/why-does-the-universe-appear-fine-tuned-for-life/ Well, meh is always a possible explanation. But that's exactly why it is never a good explanation. If Paley, Darwin et al had been content with meh about the problem of apparent design in the biosphere, we'd never have known the true explanation.

Thanks.

It doesn't require 'extrapolation' to see that interference phenomena rule out all known single-universe theories. Just logic.

I am wondering why you guys haven't simply split to a new universe where Randall Lee Reetz doesn't and won't ever exist? Its as simple as wishing it into existence… right?
