The inshore and backwater fishing has really picked up with the arrival of mullet minnows and shrimp in the creeks and bays of the lower Cape Fear area. The weather has been really nice also with lots of cooler than normal temps for this time of year. We are catching redfish, - read more -

We are catching good numbers of redfish on soft plastics (mostly Gulp Shrimp) and live minnows. Most of the reds have been slot sized with a few under slots in the mix. There are some large schools of reds roaming the flats and the sightfishing has been good - read more

We have been picking up flounder and trout while fishing for the reds. They are also hitting top waters, since the mullet have shown up, and the early morning or late evening bites have been great. The trout have liked small jerk baits and mirro-lures fished around - read more

Most of this action has been on dead or live baits. We have been using lures some, but live bait is the top choice. The reds have been biting shrimp, crab, and minnows.  Everything else has been hitting crabs and shrimp. Lots of CALM WATER FUN!!! A - read more
