​Rafter Ships RT-4000S Sgl Turkshead with Motor Adjust

Strongsville, Ohio, USA, February 16, 2018 – Rafter Equipment Corporation has shipped an RT-4000S single-sided turkshead straightener with 2-axis motorized adjustments to a major North American heavy-wall tube producer. The turkshead is capable of straightening up to 3.500" OD x 0.300" wall (88.9mm OD x 7.6mm wall) tubing. It includes motorized up/down and left/right adjustment so that tube straightness can be controlled from a remote downstream position using a simple joystick device. Linear displacement transducers (LDTs) indicate movement and position for optimum straightness control on the included remote operator's console.

Rafter 3-Roll HFI Weld Boxes Continue to Please

Strongsville, Ohio, USA, February 5, 2018 – Rafter Equipment Corporation continues to please customers with the company's robust 3-roll HFI weld squeeze boxes. The unique heavy-duty design has successfully replaced scroll-chuck and other various designs because of its ability to handle both heavier wall thickness and/or high strength, low alloy (HSLA) steels.

Strongsville, Ohio, USA, December 28, 2017 – Rafter Equipment Corporation has shipped a pair of RT-2500S Driven Reshaping Roll Stands to a major North American stainless steel tube manufacturer. The equipment was the final piece of a series of mill upgrades the customer used reconfigure an old TIG welded mill into a new HFI welded mechanical tube mill. The stands will reshape round tubing formed with a bottom-of-tube constant datum into equivalent squares & rectangles with a constant centerline datum. The maximum reshaped tube will be 2½” square x 0.135” wall thickness.

The stands represent a new design with increased robustness and easier setup and operation. The company worked with the customer to determine what improvements could be made over the previous design while still keeping within the original budget.

Strongsville, Ohio, USA, August 25, 2017 – Rafter Equipment Corporation has completed an order for three (3) RT-3000 and one (1) RT-2500 HFI weld squeeze boxes and one (1) RT-3000 heavy-duty, single-tool weld bead upset trimmer. The equipment will be used for the production of direct-formed HSLA welded profiles for the automotive industry. Rafter was chosen for this project because of the company's strong reputation for providing the kind of heavy-duty mill equipment necessary for this application.

Strongsville, Ohio, USA, July 26, 2017 – Rafter Equipment Corporation has added two (2) CNC machining centers to meet the current manufacturing demands. The identical Haas VF Series vertical machining centers were purchased to expand the company's in-house manufacturing capabilities which, in turn, helps maintain both high-quality and on-time delivery. Each machine includes added 4th axis machining capability. The new machines represent the third and forth machine additions in the last ten months. Previously, the company added a larger 5-axis lathe in November 2016 and an even larger 5-axis lathe in April of this year.

Strongsville, Ohio, USA, April 7, 2017 – Rafter Equipment Corporation has once again expanded its in-house manufacturing capabilities with the addition of another CNC machining center. The new machine is a Mazak 5-axis lathe which is larger than the previous 5-axis lathe commissioned just four months ago. This machine continues with the company's "One & Done" manufacturing philosophy that strives to reduce machine setup and operator handling times.
