Here's our latest update on what's been happening in our ministry for the last several months and what prompted our move from Nosy Mitsio to Ambilobe. It's been a very challenging time for us, but we have hope for what's next! Please read and let us know what you think.

We've been so thankful to have Amelia with us over the past six months! She's taught Matimu so much and we really enjoyed having her around. Thanks Amelia for all your hard work! We're sad you have to leave us today, but have a safe, smooth trip! We're praying for you!

Lora just wrote a great newsletter about the challenges of growing and harvesting rice, and the teamwork necessary to see the process to completion. All related to God's work in missions and the church, of course! Please read it and let us know what you think!

I was happy to go out fishing by canoe with our village headman yesterday. It was a lot of fun! At first I tried fishing with a rod, but honestly, the local method (holding the line in your hand) was a lot more suited to where we were fishing and I caught a lot more fish that way. I also steered the canoe all the way back (my first time). And then we had nice fried fish for dinner!

I know this is a bit of bragging, but sometimes I just can't get over how cute our boy, David, is! A chameleon passed by on this tree in front of our house the other day and David was thrilled to see it (he's often thrilled about just about everything, really!). Then, after the chameleon climbed higher, David tried to climb up after it, haha!

Our headman went out fishing yesterday and caught a few small sharks, so he gave one to me! We had batter-fried shark filets and hushpuppies last night; it was good!

A pretty scene from the side of the road during our trip from Tana to Ambilobe a couple days ago!

Please be praying for Narindra, a Malagasy YWAM co-worker who will be joining us on Nosy Mitsio this month, and who is looking to join our team for the next couple years. It's a big step for her to leave her family and her home in a city in the central highlands of Madagascar and to move to a small village on the northwest coast to reach out to a people group that is not her own. Pray especially that the people of Nosy Mitsio receive her well and pray especially for her financial needs to be met during this time and in the future.

We're taking a short vacation in Antsirabe, to rest a bit and to see some old friends. While here Matimu and David have had fun riding some of the "vehicles" for kids! We think the coolest was the little "pousse bicyclette" that Matimu could drive David around in. It's a popular form of transport in Antsirabe (for adults), so the kids' version was really fun!

Here's our latest news, describing a lot of the challenges we've faced in the last few months on Nosy Mitsio: lots of spiritual challenges, lots of sickness and death, and a cyclone passing by. Through it all though, God reminds us of his presence. It includes lots of photos too! Please read it and let us know what you think!

Wow! I guess I've never experienced sustained winds of 20-30mph before! It's crazy! Especially to watch the way the ocean waves are crashing so huge and the leaves are being stripped from the plants. And it's been going on like this for almost a week now! Constant cloudiness and heavy rains and drizzling off and on. And this morning the rains started seeping (in some cases pouring) through our floors and walls (and most surfaces already started molding before that)! Of course, our home isn't exactly watertight. I'm certainly ready for the sun to come back, the winds to die down, and everything to start drying back out a little!
