IDEAS FOR FUTURE ENTREPRENEURS - Dining Etiquette

Do you know these things?

If not, it is good to learn.

We should pay a lot of attention to good table manners and to some style.

Things you should keep in mind:

Never lick or put your knife in your mouth.

It is impolite to start eating before everyone has been served unless your host says that you don't need to wait.

Never chew with your mouth open. No one wants to see food being chewed or hearing it being chomped on.

It is impolite to have your elbows on the table while you are eating.

Don't reach over someone's plate for something, ask for the item to be passed.

Never talk with food in your mouth.

It is impolite to put too much food in your mouth.

Never use your fingers to push food onto your spoon or fork.

It is impolite to slurp your food or eat noisily.

Never blow your nose on a napkin (serviette). Napkins are for dabbing your lips and only for that.

Never take food from your neighbors plate.

Never pick food out of your teeth with your fingernails.

Mindset Hurdle #5: Google Plus Changes Too Much
Because we like to settle down in comfortable little ruts, change is hard. But for this mindset hurdle, you've got to get past the irritation and find acceptance, maybe even delight.
►Google is quite forward thinking and they are always pushing the envelope. Expect more change and accept that you will always be on a quest to learn more. Fortunately, Google’s changes are usually positive improvements even if they are frustrating in the short-term.

How do you handle changes on Google Plus? When features are removed or rearranged, so you feel annoyed or excited?

Half of all drowned kids drown within 25 ft of parent. Know the surprising (lack of) signs

Drowning Doesn't Look Like Drowning
from the article
"Sometimes the most common indication that someone is drowning is that they don’t look like they’re drowning. They may just look like they are treading water and looking up at the deck. One way to be sure? Ask them: 'Are you alright?' If they can answer at all – they probably are. If they return a blank stare – you may have less than 30 seconds to get to them. And parents: children playing in the water make noise. When they get quiet, you get to them and find out why."

Don't let your teen feel pressured to start high school courses in middle school.

I've had some opportunities to chat with moms of normal, average homeschool middle schoolers. Some are feeling pressure from well-meaning parents of high academic achievers to "Hurry up and get started on high school".

Here's what I say, "What's the rush?" Here are my reasons why to wait for high school until high school:

Got distactible kids? Don't miss my workshops at +Great Homeschool Conventions. In her helpful blog, +Ticia M shares some lessons. Thanks, +Ticia M

It can be tough teaching distractible kids, and I recently went to a great talk by +Kathy Kuhl on that topic, my biggest takeaway from that sessions:
Use short sessions, and GET a timer.
