I’m sure you have realized by now that voters narrowly approved the nation’s first statewide ban on single-use plastic bags at most grocery stores. Regulating plastic bags helps eliminate the harmful impacts to oceans, rivers, lakes, forests and the wildlife that inhabit them. Reducing bag use can also relieve pressure on landfills.

Two or three trips to the grocery store, and we would end up with 15 or more plastic bags. It didn’t take long for that pile of plastic bags to get even higher and then what did we do; we throw them away in the trash. That became a huge problem, so the bill was passed by voters whereby plastic bags are no longer provided when we make a purchase in a store. We now either have to pay ten cents for each paper bag that we use, or we have to take our own bags to the store.

So, with it making more financial sense to take your own reusable grocery bag to the store, we decided to create for you a variety of Wafflehoffers designer grocery bags... Learn more...http://thewafflehoffers.com/reusable-shopping-bags-custom-design/

Meet Mary Muffin, she's one of the new characters that appear in the second Wafflehoffers book. Maple's First Competition. Maple Wafflehoffer tries her best to uphold the family tradition of being the best waffle maker in the county when she enters the junior waffle-baking competition at the fair. At the beginning of the story, we see Maple as a little selfish and unsure of herself. But by the end, she shows us the meaning of being gracious and determined.

“Hurry up, Maple. It’s time to leave,” shouted Mama Wafflehoffer as she washed the last plate from a breakfast of homemade waffles.

“Coming!” said Maple as she ran outside and climbed into the car. Find out where Maple and her family were going?

Saying the words, “you can’t” or “don’t do that,” to a child’s is a request to challenge you and take that dare in a child’s mind. Maple visits her uncle Pete’s farm and is told to stay away from the mare and her foal. Maple challenges that dare. Go on an adventure with Maple as she goes in search of the mare and foal defying her uncle’s wishes. You might be surprised as to how it all turns out.
