Why do some homes just 'work' while others do not? They are a practical living space as well as a sanctuary from the outside world. We are fortunate enough to be involved with many such homes and so we asked ourselves this exact question.

The result was the LEAF Design Philosophy, a very appropriate acronym for the principles of Liveability, Efficiency, Aesthetics / Acoustics and Future-proof.

While our focus is on energy efficient heating, cooling and hot water systems, we believe that these principles apply equally to many other elements of the home.

Watch this video to find out how the LEAF Design Philosophy can make your home an absolute joy to live in: https://youtu.be/6_W8LCtYcQo

Preliminary results are out for Cool Earth Project.

Over a two-year period, the temperature and energy usage of two homes in Craigie (WA) have been compared to measure the effectiveness of a geoexchange system against conventional reverse-cycle air conditioning.

Join AIRAH’s WA division for a presentation by UWA exploring alternative options for heating and cooling residential homes.

Thanks to all that attended the AIRAH event at Geoscience Australia on Wednesday evening. We had a fun night presenting the role of thermal potential in improving energy productivity and energy efficiency. Looking forward to working with everyone involved to provide the ACT with energy efficiency solutions to match their very progressive work on renewable energy generation.

We'll be exploring thermal potential and HVAC resilience at an upcoming AIRAH event in Sydney next month - stay tuned for more details.

Germany leading the way in efficiency. Heat pumps have overtaken gas for the first time in 2017 to became the most popular form of domestic heating. Great to see that advances in heat pump efficiency, usability and design are being recognised. Shows what's possible for Australian homeowners.
