+HandsOn Tech Pittsburgh does this work as well, but here is a great account of +Points of Light's HandsOn Tech Atlanta assisting a nonprofit with an Tech Assessment and helping them find skill based #volunteers  in making a new website! Great work +HandsOn Tech Corps!

Helping non-profits better serve their clients through technology training and support hosted by Pittsburgh Cares
Introduction
As part of Pittsburgh Cares, AmeriCorps and HandsOn Network, we're helping non-profits to better serve their clients through technology training and support.

But we can't do it alone.

We're recruiting skilled volunteers, particularly those that are knowledgeable in technology, to help train and support local Pittsburgh nonprofits. If you love technology, and love helping those in need, please consider becoming a HandsOn Tech Pittsburgh volunteer. Join us!

We're also looking for nonprofit organizations to work with. If you're a local nonprofit, and are interested in how the HandsOn Tech program can help you, read more and apply here.

Mission Statement

HandsOn Tech AmeriCorps VISTAs will increase the effectiveness of the Pittsburgh's nonprofit sector’s use of technology (prioritizing cloud based/online applications and applications specifically for the nonprofit community). By supporting the sector’s use of technology, organizations will realize greater efficiencies and be better able to address the needs of low-income communities, ultimately improving outcomes for children and families.

HandsOn Tech Pittsburgh is hosted by Pittsburgh Cares, an nonprofit affiliate of the HandsOn Network and Points of Light Institute. Pittsburgh Cares offers a flexible approach to volunteering by partnering with nonprofit agencies and offering service opportunities to people of all ages.

The three members of Pittsburgh's HandsOn Tech team will engage in the following activities:
  • Nonprofit Assessments - "deep dive" evaluation and assessment of nonprofits current technology infrastructure, challenges and needs to evaluate opportunity for capacity-building.
  • Nonprofit Trainings - technology training for nonprofits to expose them to available and emerging technology.
  • Identifying and engaging "Skills Based Volunteers" from the community who have specific knowledge and skills to create an infrastructure of support for the local nonprofits.
  • Assisting local low-income community members with technology training to help bridge the "digital divide."
