Since the school decided to change insurance plans at work for the 4th time in the last 4 years that I've worked there, I couldn't get my last refill in medication through Medco. I called my gastroenterologist's office yesterday, and the receptionist was "yelling" at me because I haven't been to the doctor in 2 years, which was untrue because it was less than a year (she misread the date). She said she couldn't authorize any medication since I had to see him. I tried explaining that I still had one refill left, and my intention was to see him before the summer ended. Well, it wasn't going to work, so I made an appointment with my primary care physician for July 25 since I need to get a referral before seeing the GI, who is a specialist. This was only after sorting out the PCP issue with the insurance company since the first 2 methods they gave to choose one apparently didn't stick, and they assigned one to me.
Worry worry worry ... will I run out of medicine? The 25th was the earliest appointment!
Well, today, the GI doctor's receptionist called me back and was nicer. She was actually able to get the doctor to call in a prescription at CVS. CVS just called me 5 minutes ago to get my new insurance info because they were about to fill it. I'll be able to pick it tomorrow for $30 (should be a month supply, I believe).
PHEW. God took care of it. Even though I made the mistake of not taking care of it early enough (I didn't want to deal with going through all this insurance hassle AGAIN), GOD TOOK CARE OF ME. Isn't that amazing? He still watched out for me even though I wasn't 100% taking care of my own part. What a gracious and merciful God He is!
