Do you choose taste over health? When you can have both.

A study shown in “WCP magazine” by author Chris Hogan, IBWA’s Vice President of Communications, stated, “There are many reasons for consumer enthusiasm for bottled water, including its association with healthfulness, convenience, safety and value”. (Hogan 26) The article further stated, “Many consumers choose bottled water for its superior taste.” (Hogan 26) Drinking bottled water promotes a healthy attitude about what consumers drink. Bottled water now out sells other beverages like sodas and coffee. “BMC Michael Bellas predicts bottled water could overtake soda as America’s most popular packaged beverage within the next decade.” (Hogan 26)

Consuming water from plastic bottles can pose as a health hazards. “We are not told details of the mineral composition, which determines the actual taste. All we know is what we’re told on the label, and what we’re told on the label in the United States in minimal and misleading.” (Gleick 53) You might be left questioning what the components are because “When water comes from a municipal water supply, which is increasingly the case, the bottler does not have to state which one, or describe whether or not the water goes through additional processing”. (Gleick 56) “In some cases, the group, the Natural Resources Defense Council, said samples of bottled water contained bacteria or chemicals in levels that were considered unsafe” (Tapped 46:41) because they might cause cancer, obesity or other illnesses.

This brings up the following questions; do you really know what your drinking? Do you choose taste over health? With Carolina Pure’s exclusive point of use purification units you don’t have to choose! You receive pure drinking water with a taste you can’t resist!

The Debate: Bottled Water VS Bottle-Less

A shocking 73% Voted Yes to banning the bottle and only 27%voted No according to one website.

Some of the voters that opposed banning bottled water brought up the following points:

I oppose the banning of bottled water because it has its place as a convenient source of ready to go water.

There is that advantage but it can easily be replaced with glass bottled water or reusable drinking bottles. Nonetheless even these solutions would not be economical for a business place. Why not upgrade to a point of use purification unit supplied by Carolina Pure where you can get purified water at the touch of a button!

Plastic is recyclable and shouldn’t be banned as a source to supply water.

While this may appear to be true, on the outside now that bottles are becoming 100% recyclable. However on the inside one person stated, “Water bottles are almost all recyclable, and yet most of them are never recycled. Instead of messing with bottles why not try a BOTTLE LESS point of use purification unit supplied by Carolina Pure. With this unit, you don’t need to worry about refilling, reusing, or recycling bottles.

Banning the bottle hurts those who cannot trust the tap

The truth is, some bottled water is the same if not worse than your tap! Instead of being frightful of your tap, you should be cautious of your bottled water. Tap water may be cleaner than bottled water though you should not settled for anything but the best. Why not hook your water lines up to a point of use purification unit supplied by Carolina Pure? By doing so, you can get the purified drinking water you deserve.

By Switching to an efficient Point-of-use system you can support our fight to become more of a bottle-less nation.

Double-Mindedness in Drinking Water

Most bottled water companies offer a choice between a bottle-less water cooler and a bottled water cooler. Sometimes they even display the pros and cons of the two products. From these pros and cons you can easily see that their bottle-less water cooler has far more advantages than bottled water. Some bottled water companies also provide water softeners and advertise that they have two environmentally friendly options. However, when it comes to drinking water they offer two kinds of coolers though only one is environmentally friendly. Why would you offer one product that is and one that is not green? Especially when drinking water is essential for life to exist. With a polluted planet, life is not an option.

Carolina Pure is built upon high quality products that all have the same advantages. Because of this, Carolina Pure stands behind their products. As a company their mission is to provide healthy, clean and environmentally friendly products. When Carolina Pure says they are a green company they are because they do not offer Bottled Water. They do not offer bottled water because it would defeat the purpose of going green. When looking for quality drinking water you have to be aware of the double-mindedness of companies and focus on companies with; one main product; one main purpose; one main mission.

Going Partially Green?

Carolina Pure has stood by their mission of going green. Whether its paper-less billing to our bottle-less water purification systems, Carolina Pure goes beyond green for their customers and for our planet. Have you ever been looking for a bottled-less water cooler and come across a website adverting their new green paper-less billing option? Their hopes is to go green in billing their customers on their non-green bottled water cooler. This doesn’t makes much sense. Why would a company go partially green?

Our goal at Carolina Pure is to provide our clients with products that not only enhance their employee’s health, but improve the environment we live in. We strive to provide the greenest solution for both ourselves as a company and for our customers.

Bottled Water is Wasteful

The environmental cost of the massive consumption of bottled water has led some U.S. and Canadian local governments to consider a ban its sale. While this seems an extreme response, the scientific concerns are well-founded, and the facts may surprise you.

Fact #1. Bottles used to package water take over 1,000 years to bio-degrade and if incinerated, they produce toxic fumes. It is estimated that over 80% of all single-use water bottles used in the U.S. simply become “litter.” Source: ValleyWater.org

Fact #2. Recycling is only feasible in limited circumstances because only PET bottles can be recycled. All other bottles are discarded. Only 1 out of 5 bottles are sent to the recycle bin. Source: SunTimes

Fact #3. U.S. landfills are overflowing with 2 million tons of discarded water bottles alone.

What You Need to Know Before You Reuse That Plastic Water Bottle

n an effort to be responsible and thrifty, you may reuse a plastic water bottle over and over gain. Why not?

It’s lightweight and practical and if it’s only ever used for water, you may think that’s a good thing. Not so much.

The bottled water you buy is in a thin plastic bottle that isn’t meant to be reused, not to mention many times over.

Even before you can see it, cracks form in the delicate plastic and bacteria can lodge there. Rinsing the bottle doesn’t help; you need to wash thoroughly with soap and water and then dry completely. Washing in a dishwasher in this case is not a good thing because the plastic breaks down when subjected to very hot water.

Plastics are Not Static.

The danger of reusing a plastic bottle not meant for that purpose is two-fold: the structure of the plastic breaks down easily with regular use; the potential for leaching of the chemicals into the water is cause for concern. Heat and frequent use causes the plastic to break down faster.

One component of some plastics is BPA (bisphenol A), a known endocrine disruptor. Then there’s the bacteria. Hardy buggers, they are.

In one study of water bottles used by elementary school students, levels of bacteria well above drinking water guidelines were found in most of the bottles tested; the hygiene habits of young children is questionable at best.

As of September 2015, a total of 52 studies have investigated the relationship between fluoride and human intelligence, and a total of 34 studies have investigated the relationship fluoride and learning/memory in animals. Of these investigations, 45 of the 52 human studies have found that elevated fluoride exposure is associated with reduced IQ, while 32 of the 34 animal studies have found that fluoride exposure impairs the learning and/or memory capacity of animals. The human studies, which are based on IQ examinations of over 11,000 children, provide compelling evidence that fluoride exposure during the early years of life can damage a child’s developing brain.
